Argentine Business and Investment Promotion Conference held in Guangzhou, where companies from both countries discuss new opportunities for cooperation

On December 4th, under the guidance of the Guangzhou Foreign Affairs Office, the "2025 Cordoba Day - Argentina Business and Investment Promotion Conference" was successfully held in Guangzhou, jointly hosted by the Consulate General of Argentina in Guangzhou and the Guangzhou International Exchange and Cooperation Center, and co organized by the Investment Promotion Bureau of Cordoba Province, Argentina. Pablo De Chiara, Director of the Investment Promotion Bureau of Cordoba Province, Argentina, Wang Hongjian, Second level Inspector of Guangdong Provincial Council for the Promotion of International Trade and Executive Secretary General of Guangdong International Chamber of Commerce, Deng Changxiong, Deputy Director of the Foreign Affairs Office of Guangzhou Municipal People's Government, and Ana Baqueriza, Deputy Consul of the Consulate General of Argentina in Guangzhou, attended the event. About 170 representatives from chambers of commerce, institutions, and enterprises from Guangzhou and Argentina gathered together to discuss new prospects for China Argentina economic and trade cooperation, focusing on topics such as industry docking, investment opportunities, and commercial cooperation. At the promotion event, Bai Lian, Deputy Consul of the Consulate General of Argentina in Guangzhou, pointed out in his speech that this year marks the 53rd anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Argentina, and China's advantages in manufacturing complement Argentina's strengths in agriculture, biotechnology, and processing equipment. She introduced that Cordoba Province is the "industrial heart" of Argentina, with a complete industrial chain, high-quality labor force, and active innovation ecology. It has a high degree of compatibility with cities such as Guangzhou in terms of industrial development and technological innovation, and has broad cooperation space between the two sides. She stated that although the two countries are geographically far apart, they are constantly getting closer through economic, trade, and cultural cooperation. She hopes to use this promotion event to further promote the establishment of a closer and more sustainable partnership between Cordoba Province and Guangzhou enterprises. Deng Changxiong, Deputy Consul General of the Consulate General of Argentina in Guangzhou and Deputy Director of the Foreign Affairs Office of the Guangzhou Municipal People's Government, stated that Guangzhou, as an important central city and international communication hub in China, is accelerating high-level opening-up and high-quality development. With a strong industrial foundation and superior business environment, Guangzhou has broad cooperation space with Cordoba Province in fields such as science and technology, education, energy, and sports. He encourages enterprises from both regions to seize opportunities, deepen practical cooperation in fields such as intelligent manufacturing, information technology, agricultural technology, and new energy, and jointly build a mutually beneficial partnership. Deng Changxiong, Deputy Director of the Foreign Affairs Office of Guangzhou Municipal People's Government, and Pablo DeKiara, Director of the Cordoba Provincial Investment Promotion Bureau, highlighted the province's geographical advantages, industrial system, talent resources, and investment policies. He stated that Cordoba has a mature free trade zone, a stable investment environment, and a vibrant innovation ecosystem, making it one of the most attractive investment destinations in Argentina. He highly appreciated Guangzhou's beautiful urban ecological environment and complete infrastructure, and invited more Chinese companies to visit Cordoba for investment and exploration of more cooperation opportunities. Pablo de Kiara, Director of the Investment Promotion Bureau of Cordoba Province, further introduced the local advantageous industries and cooperative resources from the perspectives of science and technology innovation ecology, industrial system, and chamber of commerce services during the theme sharing session, with representatives from Cordoba's chambers of commerce and related enterprises. The subsequent China Arab Enterprise Matchmaking and Negotiation Conference had a lively atmosphere, with attendees engaging in in-depth discussions on specific projects and cooperation needs, promoting the accelerated landing of a number of potential cooperation opportunities. It is reported that this is the first visit of the delegation from Cordoba Province, Argentina to Guangdong Province. Pablo de Chiara, the director of the Cordoba Provincial Investment Promotion Bureau, said that the delegation of 25 people he led came from multiple fields. Many members of the delegation were deeply impressed by Guangzhou's participation in the Canton Fair and believed that Guangzhou gathers leading universities and innovative enterprises, and is an important city for promoting deepening cooperation and establishing long-term partnerships between enterprises and universities of the two countries. He pointed out that China has become the second largest export market and the largest source of imports for Cordoba Province. With the opening of direct flights from Buenos Aires to China, exchanges between the two sides in areas such as economy, trade, culture, and tourism will become even closer. He looks forward to further expanding cooperation space and promoting the establishment of a deeper and long-term partnership between the two countries through this visit. Cooperation between China and Arab countries in areas such as economy, trade, culture, and urban exchanges is ushering in new opportunities for development.
