International Traditional Chinese Medicine Training Course opens in Serbia

The opening ceremony of the 6th International Advanced Training Course on Clinical Practice and Research Progress of Traditional Chinese Medicine was held in Belgrade on the 6th. This is the first time the project has entered Serbia. This training course is jointly organized by the Institute of Clinical Basic Medicine of Chinese Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences, the Serbian Association of Integrative Medicine, and the Belgrade Chinese Cultural Center. The event is themed "Smart Integration, Combining Medicine to Lead a Healthy Future" and brings together nearly 200 doctors, professors, and researchers from Serbia, Slovakia, Poland, and other countries to exchange ideas through various forms such as expert lectures and practical workshops. During the opening ceremony, Serbian Minister of Science, Technology Development and Innovation Bela Barint stated that Serbia has maintained a very friendly relationship with China since the establishment of diplomatic relations, and this friendship is still deepening and expanding. Serbia plans to establish a national integrated medical center at the University of Belgrade in 2026, and is currently exploring the establishment of joint laboratories with China to promote modern research in cutting-edge fields such as personalized herbal medicine, bioengineering, and artificial intelligence. Liu Yinghui, Counsellor of the Chinese Embassy in Serbia, stated that Serbia has a solid foundation in traditional Chinese medicine research and clinical practice, and more and more Serbian people are beginning to understand, accept, and recognize the value of traditional Chinese medicine. This project is a vivid manifestation of the deep friendship between China and Serbia, and also provides an important platform for both sides to further deepen scientific cooperation in traditional Chinese medicine. Zhang Aimin, Director of the Belgrade Chinese Cultural Center, stated that this training is a vivid example of deepening cooperation and seeking common development in the medical and health fields between China and Serbia, and is also another important achievement of the friendship between the two peoples in the new era. It is reported that the project has been successfully held for 5 sessions since its launch in 2017, training more than 80 medical personnel from 18 countries. (New Society)
