On the 3rd, the Cultural Bureau of the Macau SAR Government held a reopening ceremony for General Yip Ting's former residence and the unveiling ceremony of his bronze statue. After the optimization project, General Ye Ting's former residence will reopen to the public from December 4th. Director of the Department of Social and Cultural Affairs of the Special Administrative Region Government, Ke Lan, Minister of Propaganda and Culture of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government of Macau, Wan Kuai sheng, Director of the Cultural Bureau of the Special Administrative Region Government, Leung Wai min, Director of the Yip Ting Memorial Hall, Qin Lan, and descendants of Yip Ting attended the ceremony. This year marks the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the Ye Ting Independent Group. At the ceremony, the main guest unveiled the bronze statue of General Ye Ting. It is reported that General Ye Ting's former residence has been re planned and expanded on the basis of the original permanent exhibition content. Through four parts: "When people want to go up, Ye Ting must go up", "Legend of the Iron Army, a famous general in the Northern Expedition", "Commander of the Beacon", and "Through thick and thin in the Haojiang River, we will systematically organize and display Ye Ting's contributions to the cause of national independence and liberation, recreate the scene of his family living in Macau, and showcase their deep connection with Macau. Liang Huimin stated that the reopened former residence of General Ye Ting, along with cultural and museum venues such as the Xian Xinghai Memorial Hall and the Lin Zexu Memorial Hall, will jointly celebrate the great spirit of patriotism and further inspire the patriotic enthusiasm of young people. The former residence of General Yip Ting is located at 76 Avenida de la Cit é, Macau. It is a two-story Western style residence where his family lived from 1932 to 1942. In May 2014, General Ye Ting's former residence was officially opened to the public. (New Society)
