The State Administration for Market Regulation will conduct supervision and spot checks on electric bicycles sold in the market around the new national standards, and plan to include them in the 2026 national sampling plan. The main focus is on safety inspection items such as fire prevention and flame retardancy, braking performance, vehicle speed limits, and short-circuit protection. Serious investigation and punishment shall be carried out in accordance with the law on unqualified products and production and sales units discovered during spot checks. At the same time, we will continue to deepen the full chain rectification of safety hazards in electric bicycles, maintain a high-pressure law enforcement situation, and severely crack down on illegal activities such as illegally modifying electric bicycles in the production and sales process, producing and selling electric bicycles that do not meet mandatory national standards, and endangering the safety of people's lives and property in accordance with the law.
