The Proposal of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China on Formulating the 15th Five Year Plan for National Economic and Social Development clearly proposes to improve supervision, promote innovation and healthy development of the platform economy. How to make the platform economy run on a scientific and healthy track more effectively has become a necessary issue. As an important part of the digital economy, platform economy is a general term for economic activities that provide various production and living services on the Internet. In 2024, the total online retail sales in China will be about 15.52 trillion yuan, accounting for 26.8% of the total retail sales of consumer goods. Data shows that platform economy occupies an important position in China's economy. In addition, the platform economy has demonstrated strong innovation vitality since its inception, playing a leading role in supporting innovation, promoting growth, expanding demand, employment and entrepreneurship, and has become an important force in promoting circulation, smooth circulation, and driving the development of the real economy. From shared travel to cross-border e-commerce, from food and beverage delivery to fresh food distribution, the platform economy shows multiple characteristics such as the booming development of digital consumption, the accelerated upgrading of industrial Internet, and the accelerated digitization of the real economy. In addition, the platform economy has gathered a large amount of innovative resources, creating a new innovation ecosystem and becoming a key force in promoting the transformation of cutting-edge technologies such as general artificial intelligence, as well as a testing ground and source for cutting-edge technologies. The rapid development of the platform economy has also made platform employment an important new form of employment. In specific applications such as mobile payments, e-commerce, and local life services, risks and challenges such as mandatory "one or two", big data killing, infringement of user privacy, and disorderly expansion of capital often emerge. From a global perspective, the platform economy utilizes network effects, scale effects, and the stickiness of upstream, downstream, and cross domain ecosystems, which can lead to the Matthew effect where the strong become stronger. For example, American Internet enterprises have taken a leading position in the international market by virtue of their first mover advantage and global layout. Google, Amazon and other enterprises have extended their service tentacles to all parts of the world to attract a large number of international users with strong technical strength and brand influence. Various factors indicate that promoting innovation and healthy development of the platform economy is of great significance for promoting economic development, but it is necessary to adhere to both development and standardization.
