The 2025 Artificial Intelligence+Transportation Forum jointly sponsored by the Internet Society of China and the Information Professional Committee of the China Communications and Transportation Association was held in Beijing on December 2. The reporter learned from the forum that in the context of the era of "artificial intelligence+", the development of China's transportation infrastructure is moving towards a systematic promotion of "digital transformation" and "digital intelligence transformation", entering a new stage of development with scene innovation as the core. Artificial intelligence, as a strategic technology in the new round of technological revolution and industrial transformation, is empowering various aspects of economic and social development with unprecedented depth. As the fundamental artery and leading industry of the national economy, transportation is one of the most important and extensive fields for the landing, application, and upgrading of artificial intelligence technology. In September of this year, the Ministry of Transport, together with relevant departments, studied and formulated the "Implementation Opinions on 'Artificial Intelligence+Transportation'", proposing that by 2027, artificial intelligence will be widely applied in typical scenarios of the transportation industry, a comprehensive transportation model system will be implemented and deployed, a number of intelligent agents will be popularized and applied, and a number of landmark innovation projects will be built. Li Zuomin, former director of the Road Network Monitoring and Emergency Response Center of the Ministry of Transport, pointed out that "promoting the deep integration of artificial intelligence and transportation is an inevitable choice for the industry to move towards high-quality development, and it is also a strategic path to build a modern comprehensive transportation system." He emphasized that digital transformation with intelligence as the core feature is becoming a strategic pivot and important focus to promote the deep development of intelligent transportation. Xu Zhiyuan, Secretary General of the Information Professional Committee of the China Transport Association and Deputy Director of the Technical Committee of the Planning and Research Institute of the Ministry of Transport, believes that under the national action guidance of "artificial intelligence+", the key is to effectively coordinate and promote the digital transformation and digital intelligence transformation of transportation infrastructure in the next step. He emphasized that digitization is not about starting anew, but rather emphasizing the application of artificial intelligence technology on the basis of digitization. Xu Zhiyuan said that promoting digital transformation requires innovative application scenarios. The real application scenario must be designed for specific problems, adopting suitable technical models and operating mechanisms, and ultimately providing service objects with tangible, perceptible, and quantifiable experiences. He specifically pointed out that the actual situation varies in different regions, and regardless of the scenario design, "sense of gain" must be taken as the fundamental measurement standard. The construction of industrial ecology is equally crucial. Xu Zhiyuan used the "iceberg theory" to vividly illustrate that visible digital achievements on the surface only account for 15% of the transformation effectiveness, while the influence of invisible operational mechanisms, business processes, organizational culture, and collaborative ecology beneath the surface is several times that of the former. He stated that true transformation requires not only advancing the "hard" projects at the technical level, but also synchronously deepening the "soft" innovation of institutional mechanisms and collaboration models.
