Harbin Institute of Technology Space Museum witnesses young students' pursuit of dreams finding their youth coordinates in the vast galaxy

Entering the Harbin Institute of Technology (hereinafter referred to as "HIT") Space Museum, it feels like opening up a "time shuttle": the antenna of the "Dongfanghong-1" satellite, the small robotic arm model of the Chinese space station's Tianhe experimental module, the satellite developed by HIT... Inside the museum, there are shiny metal shells that bring a strong visual impact. In the exhibition hall on the first floor, there is a hanging "Dongfanghong-1" satellite model. The antenna marked in red at the top is a physical object on the satellite! "Lin Chenyi, a student from the Future Technology College of Harbin Institute of Technology in 2025, had an excited look in her eyes. On the first day of enrollment, Lin Chenyi checked in at the well-known space museum. In 2022, the second lesson of the Chinese space station "Tiangong Classroom" was launched, and the imaginative space teaching deeply touched Lin Chenyi, who was still in high school at the time, making him a complete "space enthusiast". This is also the driving force for him to travel thousands of miles to study at Harbin Institute of Technology. In the second week of school, he once again walked into the space museum and attended a ideological and political class on the theme of "Two Bombs and One Satellite". I was deeply moved by the resolute return of Academician Sun Jiadong to China and his dedication to the aerospace industry, as well as the heroic deeds of Academician Guo Yonghuai in protecting important materials with his life. ”Lin Chenyi said. After class, he walked up to the "Dongfanghong-1" satellite model with a completely different mindset. The first time I saw it, I was just shocked; looking at it again today, I feel awe, "Lin Chenyi said." If our predecessors could send it into space in that era, we also need to create more miracles in the new journey. "In the Chinese space station, astronauts have an extravehicular" transportation tool "- the small robotic arm of the Wentian experimental module. Wang Zhengpu, a doctoral student from the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering in 2021, is one of the members of the robotic arm team of the Wentian Experimental Module at Harbin Institute of Technology. In the team, Wang Zhengpu is mainly responsible for the trajectory planning of the small robotic arm: "Simply put, it is to make the small robotic arm avoid detours, stabilize its movements, and prevent it from falling off the chain. What we need to do is to make it walk steadily and accurately in the most complex environment." Since last year, in order to better demonstrate the principle of the small robotic arm to the audience, Wang Zhengpu has actively applied to serve as a guide at the space museum. During a lecture, Wang Zhengpu casually asked, "What can a small robotic arm do?" A third grade elementary school student blurted out the answer, which greatly touched Wang Zhengpu: "The shining light in the audience's eyes will in turn illuminate my research ideals." "The team often says that all plans and algorithms must be reliable. ”Wang Zhengpu said that whether it is scientific research or popular science, passion and responsibility are extremely important. "I am just one of the screws, tightening myself will make the whole safer." In the updated exhibition on the second floor of the space museum, there is a display board that reads - in November 2024, the "Astu Friendship" microsatellite will be launched. Here, Yu Zhuowei tells the story of Harbin Institute of Technology students and the 'Astu Friendship Ship'. Yu Zhuowei is a 2022 undergraduate student from the School of Electrical Engineering and Automation, and also a member of the Lilac Student Micro Nano Satellite Team. The "Astu Friendship" microsatellite developed by the team weighs less than 16 kilograms, but it has multiple functions such as verifying new micro nano satellite technologies and conducting amateur radio technology experiments. From project initiation to launch, the 'Astu Friendship' spacecraft embodies the continuous efforts of nearly 50 Harbin Institute of Technology students, and Yu Zhuowei is one of them. Just two days after the launch, the team encountered a dangerous situation. According to the plan, the three solar wings will automatically unfold and provide power to the satellite through solar energy. The actual situation is that the two solar wings are stuck, and the power generation capacity is only one-third. Yu Zhuowei said that the flight control hall was lit up all night that night, "fearing that the satellite might 'go missing' if accidentally. Finally, the ground flight control team proposed a seemingly "crazy" plan: to rotate the satellite 45 degrees and "lean sideways to bask in the sun". Although the efficiency of individual units has been discounted, it can prevent a decline in battery life. It is Yu Zhuowei who ensures the injection of this command into the satellite, including delayed shutdown, command mode, and attitude switching. After one operation, the battery data on the screen changes from red to green. On the third evening, the satellite battery finally stabilized and slowly rebounded. After deeply participating in the "Astu Friendship" mission, Yu Zhuowei is still responsible for the development of multiple satellite power supply subsystems and integrated electronic subsystems. He said, "Our predecessors have made achievements with faith and courage, and we must inherit this spirit." Young figures can often be seen in the Harbin Institute of Technology Space Museum. The exhibits in the museum seem to be gazing at young people, who are also measuring the distance from their dreams to reality with their footsteps, finding their own coordinates of youth.
