Hong Kong SAR will establish an independent committee to investigate fires

On the 2nd, Hong Kong Chief Executive Li Jiachao requested a thorough investigation into the fire at Hung Fuk Court in Tai Po. Hong Kong will establish an independent committee chaired by judges to investigate the fire. Li Jiachao stated that the SAR government will continue to follow up on the search for about 30 missing persons in the Hongfu Garden fire. (New Society)
