On the afternoon of November 29th, the Macau University of Science and Technology held a ceremony to confer honorary academicians for the year 2025. Wu Shiming, Ma Youheng, Wu Peijuan, Su Xiangmei, and Chen Zhiling were awarded the first honorary academicians of the Macau University of Science and Technology, recognizing their outstanding achievements in the fields of economy, culture, education, and healthcare, as well as their significant contributions to society and the development of the university. Director of the Department of Social and Cultural Affairs of the Macao Special Administrative Region, Ke Lan, Deputy Minister of Education and Youth Work of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government of Macao, Li Yongxian, Director of the Policy Research and Regional Development Bureau of the Macao Special Administrative Region, Zhang Wenwen, Director of the Education and Youth Development Bureau, Gong Zhiming, Chairman of the Administrative Committee of the Macao Science and Technology Development Fund, Yu Yusheng, Supervisor of the Macao University of Science and Technology, Liao Zeyun, and Chairman of the Trust Committee of the Macao University of Science and Technology Foundation, Cui Shichang, attended the ceremony. Li Xingwei, Vice Chancellor and President of Macau University of Science and Technology, delivered a speech stating that the establishment and recognition of honorary academicians by the university is not only a source of pride for the university, but also sets an example for young students, inspiring them to pursue excellence and serve society. In the future, the University of Science and Technology of Macau will firmly adhere to the path of international education, give equal importance to teaching and research, contribute wisdom and strength to the diversified development of the Macau economy and the construction of the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area, and steadily move towards the goal of becoming an international first-class university. Wu Shiming and Chen Zhiling, on behalf of Honorary Academicians, express their sincere gratitude to the university, stating that they will turn this noble honor into a driving force for continuous dedication to society, and pass on this encouragement to young students, inspiring them to relay their efforts, actively learn, dare to innovate, and grow into the backbone of building Australia and a prosperous country.
