In order to regulate the behavior of operators in the funeral industry to clearly mark prices, prevent and stop price fraud, and maintain market price order, the State Administration for Market Regulation, in conjunction with the Ministry of Civil Affairs, has studied and drafted the "Regulations on Clearly Marking Prices in the Funeral Industry (Trial) (Draft for Comments)" (hereinafter referred to as the "Regulations"), and recently solicited opinions from the public. According to the regulations, the pricing in the funeral industry should comply with the principles of comprehensiveness, completeness, clarity, and standardization. Comprehensiveness refers to the responsibility of funeral service agencies in managing the clear pricing of their operating funeral facilities. Other funeral industry operators who sell funeral supplies or provide funeral services in funeral facilities shall clearly label their prices in accordance with the principle of "indicating as much as possible". Integrity refers to the requirement for funeral industry operators to fully label prices and closely related information, and simultaneously label additional conditions, gift quantities, and other information that affect the selection decision of bereaved families, ensuring their right to know and choose. Clarity requires operators in the funeral industry to label the names of funeral supplies and services in a form and language that is easy for the public to understand, indicating the substantive content of the supplies and services, and prohibiting the use of deceptive and misleading statements. The price and charging standards should be clear and explicit, and generally, vague labels such as "negotiable" or "starting from 100 yuan" should not be used. Encourage business operators to use various methods such as pictures, physical objects, videos, etc. to indicate relevant information, facilitating the judgment and selection of bereaved families. Normality refers to the standardized expression of the names and connotations of funeral supplies and service projects in laws, policies, national standards, and industry standards. The labeling names and connotations should be consistent with the laws, policies, and standards in principle. If the relevant terms are difficult for the public to understand, general expressions should be added at the same time. According to the relevant person in charge of the State Administration for Market Regulation, funeral is a major livelihood issue that concerns thousands of households and the immediate interests of the masses. In recent years, there have been frequent occurrences of price chaos in the funeral industry, such as opaque prices, inflated prices, and arbitrary charges, which have become prominent issues that have been strongly reflected by the people and seriously affect their livelihood and well-being. Therefore, it is urgent to enact regulations to regulate the behavior of funeral industry operators in clearly marking prices, break down the "information barrier" of funeral industry prices, and maintain an open, fair, and transparent price order in the funeral industry.
