The International Symposium on Copyright Protection and Promotion of Folk Literature and Art, hosted by the National Copyright Administration of China and the World Intellectual Property Organization, was held on November 27th in Quanzhou, Fujian Province. Folk literature and art are the 'living fossils' of human civilization and cultural treasures accumulated by various ethnic groups in the long historical process. All parties should work together to explore more effective protection paths. More than 300 Chinese and foreign guests from the World Intellectual Property Organization and other organizations gathered together to explore new ideas and gather new consensus for the copyright work of folk literature and art in the new era. Currently, how to balance the relationship between protection and development, inheritance and innovation, localization and internationalization, and build a governance system that can both adhere to cultural roots and embrace changes of the times is a major issue faced by all countries. The attending guests believe that all parties should strengthen copyright protection and safeguard the roots of folk literature and art; Promote industrial integration and stimulate cultural innovation vitality; Cultivate young talents and embrace the changes of the digital age; Deepen international cooperation, build bridges for mutual learning among civilizations, and make diverse folk arts and literature a link between different civilizations. Let folk arts and literature from various countries share beauty in mutual respect, equality, and mutual benefit, injecting cultural strength into the construction of a community with a shared future for mankind.
