On November 20th, the "Thousand Peaks Green Color - Shi Zhen Yue Kiln Celadon Works Hengqin Invitation Exhibition" kicked off at the Hengqin Cultural and Art Center in Guangdong. The exhibition presents a collection of 100 celadon works by Shi Zhen, a representative inheritor of the national intangible cultural heritage "Yue kiln celadon firing technique", linking the cultural context of Qin'ao with the millennium porcelain charm of Yue kiln. Celadon was once a cultural ambassador of the Maritime Silk Road, and now it has become a cultural bond connecting Qin'ao and ancient and modern times. At the opening ceremony, artist Shi Zhen presented her hand crafted lotus themed secret color pen wash "Pure Heart Lotus" to the cultural departments of Qin'ao and other cities. The work combines traditional Yue kiln glaze colors with Yang carved lotus petal patterns, echoing the landscape of Hengqin and Tielian, symbolizing the unity of Qin'ao and the integration of the bay area. Shi Zhen also stated that she will take this exhibition as an opportunity to create a batch of celadon works inspired by the Hengqin Guangdong Macao Deep Cooperation Zone. At the event, Yang Jin, Chairman and Party Secretary of Ningbo Federation of Literary and Art Circles, elaborated and promoted the content of various sections of the exhibition, sharing the millennium cultural heritage of Yue kiln celadon. Shi Zhen guided the guests and audience, systematically introducing the artistic evolution from the secret color porcelain craftsmanship of the Tang and Five Dynasties to the innovation of contemporary celadon painting. Over a hundred teachers and students from Pui Ching Middle School (Coloane Campus) in Macau witnessed the opening of the exhibition and visited it. The students expressed that this is their first time appreciating celadon up close, not only experiencing the beauty of traditional craftsmanship, but also learning about the important role of celadon in ancient maritime trade. Regarding the holding of this exhibition, Feng Fangdan, Director of the Livelihood Affairs Bureau of the Hengqin Guangdong Macao Deep Cooperation Zone, believes that it will enhance the residents' awareness and enthusiasm for the protection and inheritance of national intangible cultural heritage in both regions, promote emotional identification and cultural resonance among the public, and inject new vitality into the cultural construction of the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area. This exhibition is hosted by the Livelihood Affairs Bureau of Hengqin Guangdong Macao Deep Cooperation Zone, organized by Hengqin Shenhe Asset Operation Co., Ltd., and co organized by Cixi Shangyue Ceramics Research Institute and China International Art Exhibition Co., Ltd. The exhibition will be on display until January 20th next year. (New Society)
