On November 20, 2025, at the construction site in Dangtu County, Ma'anshan City, Anhui Province, a domestically produced WZ500 long rail laying machine accurately laid the first pair of 500 meter long steel rails in place, marking the full launch of the new Chaohu to Ma'anshan intercity railway (referred to as Chaoma intercity railway) track laying project and significant progress in project construction. The Chaoma Intercity Railway starts from Chaohu East Station in the north and ends at Ma'anshan East Station in the south, with a total length of about 61 kilometers and a designed speed of 350 kilometers per hour. There are a total of 5 stations along the entire line, including Chaohu East, Hanshan, Zhengpu Port, Ma'anshan South, and Ma'anshan East. Among them, Hanshan, Zhengpu Port, and Ma'anshan South are newly built stations. The total length of track laying along the entire line is 145.8 kilometers, including 138.18 kilometers of track laying on the main line and 6.11 kilometers of track laying on the station line.
