On November 10th, the 14th Symposium on the Interpretation of Tibetan Buddhist Teachings in 2025, jointly organized by the China Advanced Institute of Tibetan Buddhism and the China Tibetology Research Center, was held at Xihuang Temple in Beijing. Comrades in charge of the Central Xizang Work Coordination Group Office attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches. Vice President of the Buddhist Association of China and Dean of the Advanced Institute of Tibetan Buddhism in China, Jamuyang Losangjume Tudan Choekyi Nyima Living Buddha, and Vice President of the Buddhist Association of China, Venerable Chang Zang, delivered speeches respectively. The seminar, with the theme of "Strictly Governing the Tradition of Tibetan Buddhism and Systematically Promoting the Sinicization of Religion in China", aims to implement General Secretary Xi Jinping's important discourse on religious work and the Party's strategy for governing Tibet in the new era, deeply explore and promote the positive ideas in the teachings of Tibetan Buddhism, explore methods and approaches to systematically promote the Sinicization of Religion in China and strengthen the rule of law in religious affairs governance from the perspective of comprehensive strict governance, and actively guide Tibetan Buddhism to adapt to socialist society. The meeting pointed out that it is necessary to deeply study and implement General Secretary Xi Jinping's important discourse on religious work, important instructions on Tibet work, and the Party's governance strategy for Tibet in the new era, accurately grasp the spiritual essence and practical requirements, and always adhere to the correct political direction of the interpretation of Tibetan Buddhist doctrines; We must adhere to the guidance of socialist core values and the infiltration of Chinese culture, deeply explore the content of Tibetan Buddhist culture that is conducive to social harmony, progress of the times, and healthy civilization, actively respond to social concerns, and continuously improve the timeliness of Tibetan Buddhist doctrine interpretation work; We should take the strengthening of the sense of community of the Chinese nation as the main line, deeply explore the ideological resources in Tibetan Buddhist doctrines and rules that are in line with the promotion of the construction of a community of the Chinese nation, actively promote the use of the national common language and script, and broaden the channels for interpreting doctrines and rules. The seminar received positive responses from a large number of Buddhist professionals and experts, mainly in the field of Tibetan Buddhism. More than 140 explanatory papers were received, and after expert review, more than 40 papers were selected for conference exchange. The one-and-a-half-day seminar will be conducted in the form of keynote speeches and group exchanges, focusing on topics such as "learning from the past, identifying relationships, and carrying out clear and positive actions" for in-depth discussions and exchanges. Representatives of living Buddhas, sutras, and Khenpo from various sects of Tibetan Buddhism in Xizang and key provinces related to Tibet, as well as teachers and students from the Advanced Buddhist Institute of the Chinese Tibetan Language Department, the Tibetan Language Institute of five provinces (regions), and the Chinese Buddhist Institute, and more than 100 experts and scholars from relevant fields participated in the exchange.
