Recently, the "Ecological Eternal Cultivation? World Coexistence" photography and short video competition was officially launched in Wucheng Migratory Bird Town, Yongxiu County, Jiangxi Province. The competition is themed "From Wucheng Wetland to Cloud Dwelling Zen Realm, Capturing the Jiangxi Code of Resonance between Heaven and Earth" and is open to photography enthusiasts worldwide. The aim is to showcase Yongxiu's unique ecological landscape and cultural heritage through images, and to create the first IP for bird photography in China. Yongxiu County is located in the core area of Poyang Lake National Nature Reserve and is known as the "best bird watching destination in the world". Every winter, it attracts tens of thousands of migratory birds, including white cranes and Oriental white storks, to winter here, forming a magnificent scene of "thousands of birds flying together, cranes dancing in Poyang Lake". In addition, Yongxiu also has internet famous ecological landscapes such as "China's Most Beautiful Water Road". When the lake water overflows the road surface, the road floats on the lake, together with migratory birds and reeds, outlining a flowing wetland picture. The collection of entries for the competition will continue until February 10, 2026, with multiple theme categories including "Ecological Scenery", "Migratory Birds in Various Forms", and "Cultural Customs". To encourage the capture of rare images, the organizers have set up a "Special Collection Award" with a prize of up to 30000 RMB, focusing on collecting precious images of finless porpoises and white cranes framed together. All excellent works will be promoted through Visual China's global channels. In order to facilitate creators' in-depth filming, the competition simultaneously released six themed shooting routes, covering topics such as "Gathering of Ten Thousand Birds? My Bird Kingdom Discovery Journey" and "Exploring Secret Wonders on Hiking? My Ecological Bird Watching Discovery Journey", connecting core bird watching points such as Dahu Lake, Zhushi Lake, and Lion Rock, as well as cultural landmarks such as Yunju Mountain Zen Realm, Zhenru Temple, and Baihua Valley. The route design integrates bird watching experience, natural exploration, and intangible cultural heritage, while balancing ecological wildness and cultural depth. (New Society)
