On November 7th, the 2025 Annual Meeting and 15th Academic Seminar of the Professional Committee of the Chinese Cultural Relics Society Guild Hall, with the theme of "Highlighting the Characteristics of Guild Hall Culture, Innovating and Activating Utilization Models", was held at the Huguang Guild Hall in Beijing. Experts and scholars in the field of cultural relics, as well as representatives of member units of the association, gathered together to discuss the protection of cultural heritage and the revitalization and development of cultural relics in the Ming and Qing dynasties through academic sharing and interactive discussions. In her speech, Lu Qiong, Vice President and Secretary General of the Chinese Society of Cultural Relics, stated that as a living carrier of economic and cultural exchanges during the Ming and Qing dynasties, guilds should adhere to the principle of "protection first, rescue first" based on the newly revised Cultural Relics Protection Law; Strengthen systematic protection, include guilds in the overall planning of cultural relics resources to avoid fragmentation, standardize activation and utilization, strictly prohibit excessive commercialization, and improve safety inspection mechanisms to build a dual line of defense for cultural relics protection, ensuring a balance between cultural inheritance and functional regeneration. The subsequent expert themed forum featured a variety of highlights, with attending experts sharing practical experience from multiple dimensions such as protection and restoration, cultural tourism integration, and business innovation, focusing on the core of "activating the value of the times through innovation". Yang Yang, a member of the Academic Committee of Shanxi University, interpreted the scientific and artistic value of ancient architecture from an acoustic perspective with the title "Progress in Acoustic Research on Chinese Ancient Architecture"; Yang Yifan, Associate Professor of the School of Architecture and Urban Planning at Beijing Jianzhu University, shares "The Anchoring and Transformation of Beijing Ming Qing Guildhalls in Urban Space", analyzing the historical coordinates and contemporary significance of Guildhalls in urban development; Associate Professor Zhang Baiming from Beijing Normal University's Capital High end Think Tank gave a speech on "Shaping the Revitalization of Traditional Guildhalls in Ethnic Communities", using cutting-edge cases to depict the diverse possibilities and important significance of the revitalization of Guildhalls in contemporary society. Three experts provide in-depth intellectual empowerment to participants from different dimensions. Experts unanimously believe that the revitalization of guild halls requires breaking through the "static preservation" thinking, exploring diverse paths of functional regeneration, technological empowerment, brand building, and integrated development under the premise of protection, and revitalizing the millennium cultural heritage in contemporary life. Attendees expressed that this conference deeply integrates policy requirements with practical exploration, providing clear guidance for the protection and revitalization of the association. In the future, we will follow the four major paths, adhere to the cultural original intention, and work together to explore more distinctive revitalization models, so that the precious cultural heritage of the guild hall can truly become a "living" heritage and a "fire" culture, contributing solid strength to the inheritance of Chinese culture and strengthening cultural confidence.
