On November 10th, a 90 year old witness of the "Two Airlines Uprising" personally "controlled" an aircraft in a simulated cockpit. On November 9, 1949, more than 2000 patriotic employees of the former Air China and the Central Airlines launched the "Two Airlines Uprising" under the leadership of the CPC, and 12 aircraft flew from Hong Kong North to Beijing and Tianjin. Chairman Mao Zedong praised this move as a "significant patriotic act," while Premier Zhou Enlai referred to it as the "starting point of China's civil aviation industry. (New Society)
