At No. 314 Jiuquan Road, Lanzhou City, Gansu Province, amidst the bustling buildings, there is a peaceful traditional quadrangle courtyard building preserved. This is the former site of the Eighth Route Army Lanzhou Office, which was once praised by Zhou Enlai as the "reception station for the revolution and the command post for the battle". Walking into it, you can see three seemingly ordinary cultural relics - Xie Juezai's suitcase, Peng Jialun's glasses, and Wu Xiuquan's iron bed. Their mottled traces are the portrayal of the CPC's style of hard work and integrity in the revolutionary years, which still shines through time and space. A simple suitcase, weathered by time, has cracked on all four sides of the box body and lid, yet it carries the weight of history and spirit. In July 1937, Xie Juezai brought this suitcase from Yan'an to Lanzhou. During his time in Lanzhou, Xie Juezai lived a very frugal life, with only a monthly allowance of five yuan, which was often used to support comrades who faced financial difficulties in their families. The only asset is this suitcase, which has always stored his contact records with people from all walks of life, confidential documents, and daily work diaries and other items. This suitcase accompanied him on a year and two month journey to Jincheng, and later accompanied Xie Lao from Yan'an to Xibaipo and finally to Beijing, witnessing the excellent style of hard work and struggle of the older generation of revolutionaries. The old glasses, with only one lens left and a mottled frame, still speak of the integrity of the years of war. It accompanied Peng Jialun, the first director of the Eighth Route Army Lanzhou Office, countless times until late at night, becoming a powerful "weapon" for Peng Jialun to review documents, write reports, and promote resistance against Japan. Despite his glasses being damaged, Peng Jialun refused to replace them and spent all his limited funds on anti Japanese work. Through these glasses, one can see the excellent style of diligence, thrift, and frugality of Communist Party members. The rudimentary iron bed was erected on top of the earthen kang in the office at that time, welded together by several simple iron bars, cold and hard, yet telling an important historical detail. In February 1938, Wu Xiuquan took over as the director of the Eighth Route Army Lanzhou Office and rested on this iron bed for countless brief nights. Sometimes he sits on the kang and uses the iron bed as a desk to work. Dual use, meeting the needs of rest without affecting daily work. Behind this lack of attention to detail, it reflects the revolutionary's fervent patriotism for the people and the excellent style of self-discipline. These three cultural relics together outline the style map of the Eighth Route Army Lanzhou Office. Hard work and integrity are not only a work style and a spiritual outlook, but also a fine heirloom of our party. Looking back on the Party's century long struggle, generations of outstanding Communist Party members have vividly demonstrated the excellent character of cultivating integrity through simplicity and cultivating oneself through frugality through practical actions. Li Dazhao said, "Yellow scroll green lamp, Ru bitter food light, winter one cotton clothes, summer one cloth shirt; A home cooked meal in Yan'an cave dwelling allowed Chen Jiageng to witness the Communist Party's "diligence, sincerity, loyalty, and bravery in serving the public", and concluded that "China's hope lies in Yan'an"; Jiao Yulu's rattan chair is still in use even though it has a hole... Little by little, seemingly insignificant, it bears witness to the excellent style and ethics of Communist Party members in every detail. The times have changed and we have gone through storms and trials, but the original intention of Communists has never changed. The vast number of party members and cadres must continue to cultivate their party spirit, always carry the open mindedness of "clean and upright", adhere to the consciousness of "half a thread, always thinking about the difficulties of material resources", hone the determination of "those who want to be upright should stick to their appearance", improve themselves bit by bit, be frugal and frugal, be honest and self disciplined, and let good work style become a force that penetrates time and space, and radiate new vitality on the new journey.
