Reading Chinese rural literature reminds me of rural life in Vietnam, and there are many similarities between the two, "said Chen Shiqiu Zhuang, a Vietnamese university student, at the just concluded first Vietnamese academic exchange event. This event is jointly organized by the Consulate General of China in Ho Chi Minh City and Vietnam Zhi Culture Co., Ltd. from October 30th to 31st. The event content ranges from professional seminars to campus dialogues, and then to reader meetings, attracting more than 1200 representatives from various sectors in southern Vietnam and readers from both China and Vietnam to participate. At the "Ten Year Review of Vietnamese Literature Exchange" seminar held here, literary figures from both countries jointly reviewed the exchange and dissemination of literature between the two countries over the past decade. Zheng Biyin, President of the Ho Chi Minh City Writers Association in Vietnam, said at the seminar that Vietnamese academic exchanges are gradually moving towards the goal of establishing two-way exchanges, which is an important factor in cultural integration, and literature has always been an important bridge connecting the cultures and thoughts of the two countries. Ruan Lizhi, General Manager of Vietnam Zhi Culture Co., Ltd., stated that many Chinese writers actively seek opportunities to travel to Vietnam and collaborate with local publishing institutions to carry out new book releases and exchange activities. This not only enriches the spiritual life of Vietnamese readers, but also shortens the geographical distance, making readers closer to the author. Ruan Lizhi was awarded the title of "Friend of Chinese Literature" by the Chinese Writers Association this year, becoming the first Vietnamese translator to receive this honor. Over the years, the company has translated multiple Chinese literary works and promoted literary exchanges and mutual learning between the two countries. Wu Wenjun, Executive Vice President of Wenlang University, said that literature, with its unique charm, transcends language, history, and national borders, connecting different hearts closely. The Vice Consul General of China in Ho Chi Minh City, Xuzhou, stated that this event coincides with the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Vietnam and the "China Vietnam Cultural Exchange Year". He hopes to sow the seeds of cultural exchange, nurture more flowers of friendship in the future, and promote exchanges and cooperation between the two sides in the fields of culture, education, and ideology.
