After the torch relay, the four city torches gathered in Guangzhou in the afternoon of the same day and held a melting ceremony at the Guangdong Olympic Sports Center (see picture, photo by Xinhua News Agency reporter Deng Hua), preparing for the main torch lighting of the opening ceremony on the evening of November 9th. The "source fire" of the 15th National Games torch is collected from the seabed of the South China Sea at a depth of more than 1500 meters, and is obtained by igniting combustible ice with solar energy.
