This year marks an important milestone for General Secretary Xi Jinping's inspection of Liwan District and Jinan University's 7th anniversary. On October 24th, all cadres of the Overseas Chinese Federation in Liwan District, Guangzhou, went to Jinan University to carry out the theme party day activity of "Party building leads the inheritance of roots and continues to write a new chapter in Liwan's development". During the event, the Overseas Chinese Federation of Liwan District followed the instructions of General Secretary Xi Jinping to "spread Chinese culture to all corners of the world" and first visited Jinan University to see the exhibition of outstanding works by "Creative 100" students. They intuitively felt the characteristics of talent cultivation in overseas Chinese schools from cultural and creative achievements, and gathered consensus for the coordinated cultivation of new overseas Chinese entrepreneurial talents between the school and the local area; Subsequently, we delved into the exhibition of school history and the World Overseas Chinese Literature Museum in the library. Through precious historical pictures, physical exhibits, and overseas Chinese historical documents, we systematically sorted out Jinan University's more than 100 year history of "serving overseas Chinese and cultivating overseas Chinese talents", grasped the profound connection between the school and the overseas Chinese community, and its mission in spreading Chinese culture and cultivating overseas Chinese talents. The delegation from Liwan District Overseas Chinese Federation visited the Jinan University History Exhibition and World Overseas Chinese Literature Library. Subsequently, the Entrepreneurship College of Jinan University, Liwan District Overseas Chinese Federation, and Chuangjin Company had exchanges and discussions, and jointly signed the "Liwan District College Student New Overseas Talent Innovation and Entrepreneurship Practice Base" strategic cooperation agreement, clarifying the specific responsibilities of the three parties in resource sharing, talent cultivation, project incubation, etc., forming a tripartite linkage pattern of "university talent cultivation, Overseas Chinese Federation platform building, and enterprise talent utilization". It is reported that at the 9th Overseas Chinese Season (Series) event and closing ceremony of the Liwan District Overseas Chinese Federation on June 30th this year, the "Liwan District College Student New Overseas Talent Innovation and Entrepreneurship Practice Base" was officially unveiled, and a "Overseas Chinese Gathering in the Bay Area, Pursuing Dreams Together" cooperative development symposium was held on July 1st. This tripartite signing is a further deepening and effective promotion of the base construction. The base innovatively constructs a collaborative mechanism of "government guidance, university empowerment, enterprise undertaking, and overseas Chinese participation" as an important carrier for implementing the "Liwan Talent Plan", providing policy docking, entrepreneurship counseling, and market resource support for young people returning from Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, and overseas, and exploring new models of innovation and entrepreneurship support for new overseas Chinese talents (including master's and doctoral students). The person in charge of the event introduced that in the next step, the Liwan District Overseas Chinese Federation, Jinan University, and Chuangjin Company will take the practice base as the core, fully leverage the advantages of all parties, regularly organize internships, training sessions, entrepreneurship salons and other activities for college students and high-level new overseas talents, rely on the organization of the Overseas Chinese Federation to introduce international resources and project cooperation opportunities, mobilize outstanding alumni from Jinan University at home and abroad to give back to their hometown, jointly create a new model for talent cultivation in the overseas Chinese community, encourage overseas Chinese talents to actively participate in the economic construction of Liwan, and jointly write a new chapter in the development of the bay area.
