2025-10-24

In the last century, Kai Tak Airport, as one of the busiest international airports in the world, became the starting point for the development of Hong Kong's international aviation hub. Nowadays, Hong Kong International Airport has relocated from Kai Tak to Chek Lap Kok, and the former site of Kai Tak Airport has undergone a beautiful transformation, becoming the largest and most advanced integrated sports and entertainment landmark in Hong Kong's history - Kai Tak Sports Park. In 2025, Kai Tak Sports Park will serve as the main venue for the Hong Kong division of the 15th National Games. Yang Deqiang, Director of the National Games Coordination Office of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government's Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau, stated that since the start of preparations at the end of 2024, Hong Kong has completed the testing of 8 events before the end of May this year, and the system testing results have been very smooth. All parties are actively preparing for this year's National Games. As the main venue of the Hong Kong competition, Kai Tak Sports Park not only verifies its hardware level through international competitions, but also brings a visual and auditory feast to the audience in terms of sound, visual and other details. The natural racetrack on the Central waterfront and the beach volleyball court in Victoria Park, Causeway Bay, deeply integrate the Victoria Harbour night view, urban landmarks, and sports scenes, making the event a mobile city promotional video. Yang Deqiang said, "The park has hosted many large-scale sports and non sports events and has received widespread praise from athletes, audiences, and performers. We hope to use this grand event to promote Qide Sports Park, a high-quality park, to audiences at home and abroad At this moment, the preparation personnel are still carefully arranging the Kai Tak Sports Park. Directors, lighting technicians, sound engineers, cast members, and others each perform their respective duties to ensure every detail is taken care of for the upcoming event. With professional skills, exciting performances, and attentive service, they inject Hong Kong's unique charm into the National Games. (New Society)
