The China CRRC Modern Industry Chain Integration and Development Joint Chain Action Conference was recently held in Changchun, Jilin. At the meeting, the first hydrogen powered cultural and tourism train in China, the "Hydrogen Spring", was officially launched. This train is suitable for the main city and satellite cities, urban core areas, tourist attractions, and special functional areas. It is a green economy system solution tailored for the integration of modern urban transportation and cultural tourism. The "Hydrogen Spring" is developed by CRRC Changke Co., Ltd. It has the characteristics of green environmental protection, flexible configuration, and integration of culture and tourism. As a new product of low capacity rail transit equipment, this train combines the advantages of rail transit and traditional public transportation, with a short construction period, flexible supporting facilities, and can significantly reduce maintenance costs. It will be applied to supplement urban trunk transportation, connect the last mile of urban transportation, and connect cultural and tourist attractions. The "Hydrogen Spring" has freed itself from the traditional dependence of trams on overhead contact lines and substations, and is equipped with a hydrogen power system. The only product during operation is water, achieving zero carbon emissions and an average energy consumption of only 1.5 kilowatt hours per kilometer. In response to the low-temperature climate in Northeast China, the "Hydrogen Spring" has also solved the problem of battery technology performance degradation in low-temperature environments. The train supports flexible configuration, with a single car body length of 15.85 meters, and can achieve flexible grouping of 1 to 6 cars, which is convenient for citizens to commute to the business district and provides an immersive experience for tourists.
