Recently, more than 600000 acres of mid to late rice in Nanxian County, Yiyang City, Hunan Province, located in the hinterland of Dongting Lake, have matured and entered the harvesting period. Local farmers are seizing the opportunity of clear weather and operating mechanical equipment to harvest, resulting in a bountiful harvest scene in the fields. Nanxian is one of the main grain producing areas in Hunan Province. In recent years, the local area has vigorously developed the rice and shrimp industry. By 2025, the shrimp and rice planting area in Nanxian will exceed 600000 mu, with an expected yield of 600 kilograms of rice per mu. (New Society)
