On October 14th, the International Air Transport Association 2025 World Safety and Operations Conference opened in Xiamen, Fujian. This is the first time that the conference has been held in China, attracting more than 800 representatives from nearly 70 countries around the world. This conference focuses on the transformative needs of aviation safety and operations, explores innovative solutions, and covers hot topics such as global trends in aviation accident rates. Xie Bing, the organizer of the conference and the general manager of Xiamen Airlines, said that China, as the core engine driving the recovery of the industry, has contributed more than 20% to the global air transport growth for consecutive years. As of now, the ten-year rolling value of the major accident rate for China's civil aviation transportation of one million flights is 0.023, which is about one seventh of the world average level.
