The first "Portuguese Style and Music Carnival" was held from the 11th to the 12th at the Hengqin Guangdong Macao Deep Cooperation Zone Cultural and Art Center, showcasing the unique charm of Portuguese speaking countries and regions through a variety of cultural activities. It brought an immersive cultural experience with exotic charm to residents and tourists in Qin'ao, and also provided a new platform for promoting cultural exchanges between China and Portugal. This event is jointly organized by the Livelihood Affairs Bureau of Hengqin Guangdong Macao Deep Cooperation Zone and the Cultural Bureau of the Macao SAR Government. This event is an important practice to deepen the cultural integration between Qinzhou and Macao and enhance the level of integration. Feng Fangdan, Director of the Livelihood Affairs Bureau of Hengqin Guangdong Macao Deep Cooperation Zone, said that the cooperation zone will continue to work with Macao to actively create more high-quality cultural activities and exhibition platforms, promote the exchange and sharing of cultural resources, inject new momentum into the prosperous development of the two cultures, and jointly write a new chapter of cultural exchange and cooperation under the "One Country, Two Systems" policy. The carnival has set up four themed areas on site, covering cultural exhibitions, art performances, food experiences, and interactive games, fully reflecting the characteristics of cultural integration between Qinhuangdao and Macao. The "Portuguese Culture" section showcases traditional handicrafts from Portuguese speaking countries and regions. Macau native Portuguese instructors host hand drawn workshops on Portuguese brick coasters, eco-friendly bags, and other items, allowing participants to create souvenirs with a unique Portuguese flavor. There is also an interactive cultural exhibition wall on site, which systematically introduces the history and culture of nine Portuguese speaking countries and regions. The performance area gathers 8 professional performance teams from Portuguese speaking countries and regions, as well as 5 academic groups from China and Australia, presenting exciting performances including traditional Portuguese folk dance, Brazilian hot dance, and band singing. A student group from Macau performed alongside artists from Portuguese speaking countries, showcasing the unique charm of cultural integration between the two regions. The food area has gathered 10 Portuguese style food stalls, showcasing the cooking techniques of authentic Macau native Portuguese cuisine. The mascot of this event, "Ta Ta," is inspired by Macau Portuguese tarts and features the Hengqin acronym "HQ," making it one of the most popular check-in spots on site. The event site is equipped with multilingual volunteer services to provide consultation and guidance for tourists from different countries and regions, allowing each participant to fully enjoy this cultural feast.
