Hong Kong hosts' International Low Altitude Economic Summit 'to promote the construction of a low altitude economic ecosystem

The International Low Altitude Economic Summit was held on the 9th at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. The summit brings together representatives from domestic and foreign politics, industry, academia, and research to exchange and share ideas on low altitude airspace management policies, innovative technology research and development, industrial development models, and showcase multiple related scientific and technological achievements. The Deputy Financial Secretary of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, Wong Wai lun, attended the launch ceremony and delivered a speech, stating that the government is rapidly promoting the development of the low altitude economy. In March of this year, the first batch of 38 "regulatory sandbox" pilot projects were announced, of which 17 projects have already started testing and an additional 11 projects are expected to be launched by the end of October. In addition, the SAR government is about to launch an advanced version of the "Regulatory Sandbox X" pilot project, covering complex application scenarios such as cross-border routes and low altitude manned aircraft. Lin Dahui, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Hong Kong Polytechnic University, stated that the university will continue to leverage its advantages in interdisciplinary research and higher education, and support the technological development related to the low altitude economy through the collaborative efforts of various sectors of society. Looking forward to more strategic partnerships in the future to jointly improve the low altitude economic ecosystem of Hong Kong and other cities in the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area. Hong Kong SAR Legislative Council member and founding president of the Greater Bay Area Low Altitude Economy Alliance, Elizabeth Tse, stated that in order to safely develop the low altitude economy, it is necessary for government, industry, academia, research, and investment to work together to make breakthroughs and promote policy, institutional, regulatory, and technological innovation. As a platform for ideological exchange and a starting point for win-win cooperation, the Greater Bay Area Low Altitude Economy Alliance will continue to work together with all parties to promote the development of the low altitude economy. The summit is hosted by the Hong Kong Polytechnic University and co organized by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government's "Working Group on Developing Low Altitude Economy" and the Greater Bay Area Low Altitude Economy Alliance. The first event was hosted by Bi Qi, Chief Scientist of China Telecom Group, who delivered a keynote speech titled "Building an Intelligent Connected Network for Air Control Services to Unleash New Potential for Low Altitude Economy". The following two furnace side talks focused on policies and regulations for the development of low altitude economy, how collaborative innovation can lead low altitude flight, and related technology transformation. The summit also set up an innovation and technology exhibition, with nearly 30 government departments, academic institutions, and enterprises showcasing multiple cutting-edge technology application cases and low altitude economic "regulatory sandbox" pilot projects, including satellite navigation interference warning aircraft systems, 5G unmanned aerial vehicle comprehensive management cloud platforms, unmanned aerial vehicle wireless charging systems, etc. The full day event attracted over 1200 political and business leaders, scholars, and industry professionals to participate.
