Looking at the magnificent transformation of 'Made in China' from two German exhibitions

2025-10-11

In September of this year, the 2025 Berlin International Consumer Electronics Show and the 2025 Germany International Automotive and Smart Mobility Expo were held successively. At these two large-scale exhibitions with global influence, Chinese companies have become the focus of attention. Many European companies and consumers are attracted by China's smart products and cool technology, and they admire the magnificent transformation of "Made in China" and the vast opportunities it brings to global industrial development. At this year's German International Automotive and Smart Mobility Expo, more than 110 Chinese companies participated, becoming the main exhibitors. The German newspaper "Handelsblatt" commented that "the number of Chinese brands has reached a historical high, which is a major highlight of the auto show." The five new models launched by Xiaopeng Motors, including the Changan Shenlan S05 equipped with high-energy solid-state batteries, BYD's passenger car kilovolt megawatt pure electric platform, as well as CATL's battery safety technology NP3.0 that does not produce open flames and smoke when thermal runaway occurs, and the battery product Shenxing Pro, have become eye-catching heavyweight products at the exhibition. Chinese car companies and supply chain enterprises not only bring the latest electrification and intelligent technologies, but also demonstrate business opportunities for cooperation. Many European car companies have unveiled new models equipped with Chinese batteries, intelligent driving, and connected car technologies. Kang Linsong, President of the European Automobile Manufacturers Association and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Mercedes Benz AG, said, "The innovative products and technologies we have developed together with our Chinese partners not only meet the needs of Chinese customers, but are also feeding back to the global market. The trend of 'Made in China' has also blown to the Berlin International Consumer Electronics Show, which is regarded as a barometer of industry development. Haier's refrigerators and washing machines equipped with the "AI Eye" have sensing and proactive service capabilities, Hisense's world's largest 116 inch RGB Mini LED TV, and DJI's new drone that provides a first person flight experience... Numerous Chinese intelligent products have attracted exhibitors and viewers to stop and pay attention. High quality development has effectively promoted the upgrading of China's manufacturing industry, and numerous high-end intelligent products produced in China have shown increasingly strong competitiveness in the international market. Chris Pereira, CEO of Meixun, said that in the past, the impression of Chinese brands overseas was more focused on "strong supply chains" and "price advantages". But now, more and more overseas partners and competitors are beginning to admire Chinese companies' keen market adaptability and self iteration ability. Leif Lindner, the organizer of the Berlin International Consumer Electronics Show, believes that Chinese companies are "growing from fast followers to global leaders". Chinese enterprises generally regard innovation as the core driving force, constantly researching and developing cutting-edge technologies and disruptive products, injecting vitality into the global market. Many foreign-funded enterprises believe that cooperating with Chinese companies can provide access to advanced "smart manufacturing" technologies and concepts, and connect important sources of innovation. From production in China to innovation in China, and then to collaborative innovation with China, many foreign-funded enterprises have recognized the high-level self-reliance and self-improvement development path of China's manufacturing industry through practical actions. At present, many European companies, including German ones, have expressed their willingness to strengthen cooperation with Chinese companies. A survey conducted by the German Association of Automobile Manufacturers shows that nearly 70% of the surveyed companies plan to increase their investment in China in the future, with over 78% of them focusing on investing in research and development. The association believes that the cooperation between multinational car companies and China is entering the "joint venture cooperation 2.0 era" with research and development as the core. In the eyes of some industry insiders in Europe, relying on China's leading advantages in electrification and intelligence, the cost control and product iteration speed of European car companies have significantly improved, and this complementary advantage is becoming the key to enhancing global competitiveness for both sides. Hildegard M ü ller, President of the German Association of Automobile Manufacturers, said, "The cooperation between Germany and China in the automotive industry has formed an excellent and efficient ecosystem, bringing consumers innovative, cost-effective, and green low-carbon products and solutions. Innovation is endless, and cooperation can lead to win-win results. Made in China is injecting strong momentum into global industrial transformation with an open and inclusive attitude, leading technological strength, and a well-established industrial chain advantage. In the future, China will continue to deepen mutual trust and collaborative innovation with partners from various countries, jointly explore broader development space, and promote the benefits of scientific and technological progress and industrial upgrading to the world.
