Recently, the State Administration for Market Regulation held the on-site evaluation of the second Price Supervision Competition Capability Enhancement Activity, summarizing and exchanging regulatory and law enforcement experience and practices from various regions, and showcasing cases of price supervision and inspection, anti unfair competition, and cracking down on pyramid schemes and standardized direct sales on site. Since the beginning of this year, market supervision departments at all levels across the country have solidly promoted the special action to rectify unfair competition on the internet. As of the end of August, a total of 8691 cases of various types of unfair competition were investigated and dealt with, with a fine of 361 million yuan, including 1119 cases of online unfair competition, with a fine of 46.54 million yuan, effectively promoting fair competition, optimizing the business environment, and safeguarding the legitimate rights and interests of enterprises and consumers. 10 excellent cases and 23 typical cases were selected at the event site, and the "Annual Report on China's Price Supervision and Inspection and Anti Unfair Competition Law Enforcement (2024)" (hereinafter referred to as the "Report") was released. The report shows that in 2024, the national market supervision system will carry out in-depth price supervision and competition protection actions, with a total of 38600 cases filed throughout the year, fines of 3.07 billion yuan, and reminders for refunds of 2.025 billion yuan. We will make great efforts to rectify illegal fees charged by enterprises and promote the reduction of their burden. A total of 3042 cases have been filed nationwide, with fines of 430 million yuan and refunds of 1.36 billion yuan; We will crack down on illegal activities and chaos in the funeral industry, and make precise efforts to maintain price order and stability. Throughout the year, 18400 cases of price law enforcement in the livelihood sector were filed, with fines of 1.207 billion yuan and refunds of 662 million yuan to consumers; We will crack down on unfair competition behavior with high pressure, investigate and handle 14200 cases of various types of unfair competition, and impose fines of 805 million yuan. The State Administration for Market Regulation requires that market supervision departments continue to increase their efforts to regulate market order, rectify illegal activities in accordance with the law, focus on promoting orderly competition among enterprises, and stimulate the endogenous power and innovation vitality of the whole society through healthy competition.
