Recently, at the 4th Forum of the Top 100 Law School Deans of the World in the 21st Century and the Global Rule of Law Conference in the Era of Artificial Intelligence, multiple achievements in legal education were officially released. The release of the China Renmin University foreign-related rule of law model 2.0 and the initiation and establishment of the Global Law Education Cooperation Alliance, the "21st Century Top 100 Law School Deans Forum", were initiated by the Law School of Renmin University of China. Since its first event in 2000, the second and third sessions were successfully held in 2010 and 2020, respectively, inviting more than 800 influential and academically renowned presidents and legal scholars from five continents around the world to attend. This year, the conference focused on the theme of "Global Rule of Law in the Age of Artificial Intelligence". Nearly 200 foreign guests, including presidents of over 100 world-renowned law schools, heads of international organizations, and experts and scholars from 37 countries and regions across five continents, as well as more than 600 presidents and practical experts from mainland China's law schools, gathered together to jointly shape an important consensus on the integration and development of artificial intelligence and the rule of law. Artificial intelligence will not eliminate the legal profession, but reshape it. The development of artificial intelligence technology has brought about a series of governance issues that are global. During the forum, multiple experts shared their views on the theme of "Global Rule of Law in the Age of Artificial Intelligence". Former Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan, Djoomart Otorbaev, believes that currently, artificial intelligence is entering the legal field, bringing opportunities and challenges to legal professionals worldwide. Artificial intelligence will not eliminate the legal profession, but reshape it. Future legal professionals need to master new skills, not only with legal reasoning ability, but also with technological literacy. They should not only be proficient in law, but also understand the ethical norms of the digital age. Seeram Ramakrishna, former Vice President of the National University of Singapore, Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering, and Foreign Fellow of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, stated that currently, artificial intelligence research and development companies are gradually entering the field of "artificial consciousness" development, which has a more profound impact than current artificial intelligence. Therefore, strengthening global governance and guidance is crucial and urgent. Jilin, former Party Secretary and First Vice President of the Central Academy of Socialism, stated that the development of artificial intelligence technology has brought about a series of governance issues, which are global in nature. On the basis of respecting the governance traditions, development stages, and cultural characteristics of each country, we should adhere to the principle of "harmony in diversity" and seek the "greatest common denominator". In the governance of artificial intelligence, institutional dialogue should be used to bridge the governance gap, rights protection should guide technology towards goodness, cross-border integration should be used to cultivate legal talents, and a path of rule of law development should be paved for artificial intelligence. During the forum, the "Renmin University of China Foreign Rule of Law Model 2.0" was officially launched. At the end of 2024, the Law School of Renmin University of China will take the lead in launching the first large-scale model research and development of foreign-related rule of law in national universities, collecting more than 30000 laws and regulations from 24 countries, over 481 billion words of legal text data, 300000 legal instruction data, and thousands of high-quality foreign-related rule of law instruction data manually annotated. The foreign-related rule of law model 2.0 has been comprehensively upgraded, including six sub products: intelligent legal platform, intelligent legal assistant, teaching and training platform, legal document translation, foreign-related legal information, and intelligent translation assistant. It will fully serve the overseas business and legal practice departments of enterprises, intelligently support national legal research and education, build a global data cooperation platform and legal intelligent service platform, marking a substantial breakthrough in the deep integration of legal theory and cutting-edge artificial intelligence technology. In addition, nearly 30 renowned law schools from five continents around the world, including Renmin University Law School and Oxford University Law School, have jointly initiated the establishment of the "Global Legal Education Cooperation Alliance". The Global Alliance for Legal Education Cooperation proposes to establish an unofficial and open international academic collaboration mechanism, further deepening global legal education cooperation through cooperation mechanisms such as permanent global rule of law conferences, regular academic networks, and educational resource sharing platforms, jointly promoting the construction of a new paradigm of cross civilization dialogue, incubating future rule of law innovators, and exploring a common framework for human rule of law. It is reported that the predecessor of the Law School of Renmin University of China, the Law Department, was established in 1950. It is the first formal higher legal education institution established after the birth of the People's Republic of China and is known as the "working mother machine" of Chinese legal education and the "cradle of legal scholars". It has trained and trained more than 300000 students and legal personnel of various types. (New Society)
