The launch ceremony of the Mainland Enterprise Overseas Special Class was held in Hong Kong recently. The Financial Secretary of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, Paul Chan, stated that the overseas special team established in Hong Kong will coordinate various policy bureaus, departments, and institutions to provide more comprehensive and stronger support for mainland enterprises to "go global". In order to better support mainland enterprises in "going global", Hong Kong Chief Executive Carrie Lam's 2025 policy address proposes to integrate Hong Kong's overseas offices, including the Hong Kong Investment Promotion Agency, the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, and Hong Kong's offices in mainland China, to form a one-stop platform, establish a special team for going global, and actively recruit mainland enterprises interested in expanding overseas business to use Hong Kong as a platform for "going global". The overseas special team plans to discuss work strategies and plans before the end of this year, and hold its first large-scale promotional event to promote related work. During his speech, Chen Maobo pointed out that the "going global" development of mainland enterprises, especially the layout of supply chains and industrial chains in the global south, is not only a trend, but also an inevitable choice for the development and growth of enterprises. The overseas specialized team integrates resources and overcomes obstacles through high-level positions within the governance structure of the special administrative region government. At the same time, gather resources, mobilize and gather forces from all walks of life, exert maximum influence, and achieve the best results. In her speech, the Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development of the Special Administrative Region Government, Qiu Yinghua, stated that as the country shifts from high-speed growth to high-quality development, more and more outstanding mainland enterprises are actively exploring overseas markets, and Hong Kong can serve as the "starting point" for enterprises to "go global". The SAR government hopes to gather various professional forces through the overseas special class, transform the potential of enterprises into practical results, and enable more mainland enterprises to successfully go global with Hong Kong as a springboard. The Director General of Invest Hong Kong, Liu Kaixuan, stated that Hong Kong has a world-class financial system, professional services, and a sound rule of law, making it the best base for mainland enterprises to explore international markets. The overseas special class has made Hong Kong the home port for mainland enterprises to set sail to the world, and will inject new impetus into the Hong Kong economy. More than 100 people from various industries including law, accounting, financial services, banking, chambers of commerce, and professional associations also attended the launch ceremony.
