Chinese Books Debut at the 11th Baku International Book Fair

2025-10-03

The 11th Baku International Book Fair opened on the 1st at the Baku Expo Center in the capital of Azerbaijan, and Chinese books once again appeared at the Baku International Book Fair. It is reported that a total of 12 Chinese publishing units participated in the exhibition with nearly 300 high-quality books. The Chinese booth is themed "Reading China" and showcases books including themed, literary, social science, children's, language learning, etc. It focuses on showcasing the characteristics of traditional Chinese culture and showcasing the achievements of China's social development in the new era. The reporter saw at the book fair that some foreign publishers were consulting copyright cooperation at the Chinese booth, and many Azerbaijani parents and teenagers were flipping through Chinese learning materials such as "Basic Chinese 40 Lessons". 25-year-old Azerbaijani girl Nigar Alieva visited the Baku International Book Fair for the first time and couldn't put down the painted version of "Chinese Mythical Stories" on the Chinese booth. I am very interested in the Chinese picture books exhibited this time and hope to have more books introducing Chinese kung fu and tea culture to participate in the exhibition in the future. On the 1st, the Chinese booth held the "Family and Country Reunion" - a retrospective exhibition commemorating the 100th anniversary of the publication of the first "Zikai Comic" and the opening ceremony of the cultural activity of the book fragrance Baku China booth. East China Normal University Press has gifted books such as Feng Zikai's "Protecting Life Painting Collection" to the Confucius Institute of Azerbaijan Language University. This year's Baku International Book Fair is hosted by the Ministry of Culture of Azerbaijan and will last until the 7th. The theme of the book fair is "Technology and Humanities: Yesterday's Dreams, Today's Trends". In 2024, Chinese books made their debut at the Baku International Book Fair. (New Society)
