On September 29th, the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing and the China Logistics Information Center released data showing that in the first eight months, the total amount of social logistics in China reached 229.4 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 5.2% at comparable prices, and the growth rate was basically the same as the first seven months; In August, the growth rate increased by 4.8%, a decrease of 0.1 percentage points from July. Meng Yuan, Deputy Director of the Logistics Statistics Department of China Logistics Information Center, told reporters that since the beginning of this year, a package of macro policies has been continuously implemented to promote the rapid growth of logistics demand in multiple fields. In the first 8 months, China's logistics operation foundation continued to consolidate, and the positive trend became more apparent. Specifically, the operation of industrial logistics shows the characteristics of stable growth rate and continuous structural transformation and upgrading. In the first 8 months, the total amount of industrial logistics increased by 5.5% year-on-year, with a growth rate 0.2 percentage points lower than the previous 7 months; In August, the year-on-year growth rate was 4.8%, a decrease of 0.2 percentage points from July, and the overall growth tended to stabilize. Consumer logistics remains stable, driven by new business models. In the first 8 months, the total logistics volume of units and residents' goods increased by 6.5% year-on-year, with a growth rate 0.3 percentage points higher than the previous 7 months, indicating that the recovery of consumer related logistics demand has accelerated. International logistics is gradually stabilizing, and the optimization process of import logistics structure is accelerating. In the first 8 months, the total logistics volume of imported goods decreased by 1.9% year-on-year, narrowing the decline by 0.5 percentage points compared to the first 7 months; In August, the year-on-year growth rate was 1.9%, and the growth rate increased by 0.5 percentage points compared to the previous month, showing a slight increase for three consecutive months. Import logistics showed a stabilizing trend. In terms of market size, the total revenue of the logistics industry in the first 8 months reached 9.4 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 4.6%. From the perspective of industry prosperity, the average prosperity index of China's logistics industry in the first 8 months was 50.6%, and the new order index of logistics enterprises remained in the prosperous range for 7 consecutive months, indicating that logistics activities are still relatively active. From a structural perspective, the transformation and upgrading of traditional logistics services such as railway transportation are advancing, while new forms of logistics services such as e-commerce and express delivery continue to lead the way. The resilience of cross-border international logistics has improved, and new progress has been made in the high-quality development of logistics. It is worth noting that logistics service prices are showing a trend of differentiation, and there are signs of improvement in the industry's competitive situation. The monthly average coastal (bulk) comprehensive freight rate index for August was 1070.1 points, an increase of 3.3% compared to the previous month. The monthly average value of China's highway logistics freight index in August was 105.1 points, with a month on month increase of 0.01%. In August, the average single ticket price in the express delivery industry remained stable with a slight increase of 0.01 yuan compared to the previous month. At the same time, some regions actively promoted "anti internal competition", and the single ticket price of top enterprises increased by 1% -3% compared to the previous month. Faced with market changes, logistics companies actively innovate their business models and open up new growth points through strategies such as multimodal transport and supply chain integration. At the same time, driven by multiple factors such as the rebound of logistics service prices in segmented fields, the industry as a whole shows a marginal improvement trend. The cost of the hundred yuan logistics business revenue is 95.1 yuan, a decrease of 0.2 yuan from the previous seven months. In the first 8 months, the logistics business revenue of the key surveyed logistics enterprises increased by 4.4% year-on-year, and the growth rate of business revenue remained basically stable for 3 consecutive months. The effect of the 'anti internal competition' policy is gradually emerging, and the competition among logistics enterprises is becoming more orderly, gradually shifting from price wars to value creation. ”Meng Yuan said.
