On September 27, the National Freehand brushwork Exhibition, "Pay Attention to the Classics" hosted by the National Art Museum of China, met the audience. Pan Yikui, the director of the National Art Museum of China, stated that the spirit of freehand brushwork is one of the core languages of Chinese aesthetics. As a national art hall, the National Art Museum of China is not only an important institution for collecting, displaying, and researching freehand art, but also a guardian, interpreter, and promoter of this Chinese aesthetic spirit. Taking the spirit of freehand brushwork that runs through the history of Chinese art as the coordinate, the National Exhibition of Freehand brushwork Works, which focuses on paying attention to the classics and pays tribute to the classics, gathers art works collected by the National Art Museum of China, specially invited works and works collected nationwide, and displays nearly 600 works from ancient masters of art to contemporary young artists, including Chinese paintings, oil paintings, prints, sculptures, watercolors, installations, new media and other art categories. The exhibition consists of three parts: the first part is the collection of classics, showcasing representative collections from ancient masters such as Ba Da Shan Ren, Shi Tao, and Wu Changshuo to contemporary artists at the National Art Museum of China, paying tribute to the classics and interpreting the development and evolution of freehand brushwork spirit; The second part is a special invitation to showcase the latest creations of artists active in the art world, including installations, new media, and other works, expanding the boundaries of freehand brushwork concepts; The third part selects works collected nationwide to showcase the inheritance and innovation of freehand brushwork spirit in current artistic creation. It is understood that during the exhibition, there will also be an academic seminar on "Paying Attention to Classics - National Freehand Painting Exhibition" to further sort out the aesthetic connotation of freehand brushwork spirit and explore the spiritual value and aesthetic character of contemporary art creation. This exhibition will continue to be open until October 8th in the exhibition halls on the first, third, and fourth floors of the National Art Museum of China (closed on Mondays, except for statutory holidays).
