The reporter learned from a press conference held by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism that the 14th China Art Festival, with the theme of "Art in Bashan and Shushui co painting a new chapter of the times", will open in Chengdu, Sichuan on October 15 and close in Chongqing on November 5. The overall event will last until the end of 2025. This year's art festival will focus on presenting the new heights and new atmosphere of national literature and art in recent years, as well as the new achievements and styles of literary and artistic workers. Zhao Cong, Director of the Art Department of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, introduced that the 14th China Art Festival will hold various main activities such as opening and closing ceremonies, selection of the Wenhua Award, exhibition of specially invited plays, performance for the benefit of the people, art exhibitions, and art reviews. More than 100 outstanding stage art works and 174 cultural works from the masses will be showcased. At the same time, about 1000 outstanding works of art, calligraphy, seal carving, and photography from across the country will be exhibited. It is reported that this year's Wenhua Award has made significant reforms in the award setting, application channels, and evaluation conditions, with a more open and inclusive attitude and more scientific and reasonable measures, further playing the guiding role of literary and artistic awards. After actively optimizing the award settings, this year's Wenhua Award covers four categories: Wenhua Drama Award, Wenhua Program Award, Wenhua Single Award, and Wenhua Comment Award. The total number of awards has increased from 30 in the previous year to 55. For short plays, songs, dances, and other programs that are popular among the general public and have a duration of no more than 40 minutes, 15 Wenhua Program Awards have been added for the first time. At the same time, the Wenhua Criticism Award was also added for the first time, filling the gap in the field of literary criticism awards. The Star Award is a national cultural and artistic government award established for art enthusiasts and cultural workers. It will be held for the 20th time this year. Yan Xiaodong, Deputy Director of the Public Service Department of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, stated that the number and quality of entries for this year's Star Awards have significantly improved, with a total of 5039 works (teams) participating.
