On September 19th, the "Uruguay: Gateway to Latin America - New Opportunities and Logistics Solutions for Cross border E-commerce" themed exchange conference co hosted by the Consulate General of Uruguay in Guangzhou and the Guangzhou International Exchange and Cooperation Center was successfully held in Guangzhou. Facundo Sim ó n Fern á ndez Guerra, Consul General of Uruguay in Guangzhou, gathered with over 140 enterprises, institutions, and business associations from Guangzhou and Uruguay to discuss the prospects of economic and trade cooperation. At the exchange meeting, during the discussion of economic and trade cooperation and investment opportunities between China and Uruguay, the Consul General of Uruguay in Guangzhou, Facundo Simon Fernandez, emphasized the core advantages and policy support of China Uruguay cooperation. He stated that Uruguay has a stable political and legal environment, high economic openness, complete logistics infrastructure, and leading communication technology, providing a superior business and investment environment for Chinese enterprises to enter Latin America. He pointed out that Uruguay was one of the first countries in Latin America to join the "the Belt and Road" initiative. Based on the natural economic complementarity and political mutual trust between China and Uruguay, China and Uruguay have gone through 37 years of diplomatic history and established good cooperative relations. He sincerely welcomes more Guangzhou enterprises to expand into the Latin American market through Uruguay, further deepen economic and trade cooperation between China and Uruguay, and even between China and Latin America, open up new opportunities, and expand new platforms. In the theme sharing session of Facundo Simon Fernandez, representatives from Uruguayan and Chinese companies respectively showcased e-commerce solutions covering the entire chain from efficient customs clearance, integrated logistics, cross-border payments to brand going global, helping Chinese companies seize new opportunities in the Latin American market. Among them, Ms. Valentina Calabia, the representative of Uruguay's e-commerce industry, stated that China will be seen as a benchmark for industry development. In the future, we hope to achieve more cooperation with China and at the same time drive or assist Chinese enterprises to enter a broader Latin American market. Subsequently, during the free exchange session, representatives from Chinese and Uruguay enterprises had in-depth discussions with guests on relevant cooperation issues, and the atmosphere on site was lively. Since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Uruguay 37 years ago, the areas of cooperation have continued to expand and deepen, laying a solid foundation for the development of this exchange meeting. The exchange meeting focuses on cross-border e-commerce opportunities and efficient logistics solutions, aiming to build a resource docking platform for Chinese and Uruguay enterprises, and help both sides work together to explore new business opportunities in Latin America. The Guangzhou International Cooperation and Exchange Center stated that the platform will serve as a bridge for enterprises, always committed to building an efficient and pragmatic international exchange platform, linking global resources, and helping local enterprises go global and steadily achieve long-term goals, injecting strong momentum into the dual wheel drive of high-level opening up and high-quality economic and trade development in Guangzhou.
