On the 19th, the Chief Secretary for Administration of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, Chan Kwok ki, stated that it is expected that about 8.76 million people will enter and leave Hong Kong during this year's National Day and Mid Autumn Festival holiday in mainland China. The SAR government will make preparations to receive visitors to Hong Kong. According to the Immigration Department of the Special Administrative Region Government, it is estimated that approximately 8.76 million people (including Hong Kong residents and visitors) will enter and exit Hong Kong through various sea, land, and air traffic control stations during this year's National Day and Mid Autumn Festival holiday (i.e. from October 1st to 8th). Among them, approximately 7.52 million people are expected to enter and exit Hong Kong through various land border control stations. Chen Guoji presided over the inter departmental working group meeting on festival arrangements on that day, comprehensively coordinating and supervising the preparatory work of various departments of the SAR government for receiving visitors to Hong Kong during the National Day and Mid Autumn Festival holidays in mainland China. According to estimates from the Hong Kong Tourism Authority and the industry, it is expected that 1200 tour groups will enter Hong Kong during the National Day and Mid Autumn Festival holiday in mainland China, with an average daily number of inbound groups similar to last year's National Day holiday. Major tourist attractions in Hong Kong have developed special plans to cope with the expected increase in foot traffic. A series of activities will be held in various districts of Hong Kong, including the National Day fireworks display on the evening of October 1st. The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government Police Force will arrange sufficient police force and implement corresponding crowd management measures and special traffic arrangements as needed to ensure the safe and orderly conduct of activities. The cross departmental joint command center, established by multiple departments, will be launched from October 1st to October 8th to monitor the on-site situation at the port in real time and maintain close contact with mainland port departments through the established port hotline and real-time notification mechanism. In terms of transportation arrangements, the Transport Department of the Special Administrative Region Government has coordinated with relevant operators to strengthen transportation services connecting various ports.
