The reporter recently learned from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology that as of September 2025, the Blue Bay Incubation Port, a school level incubator of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology located in Shenzhen, has incubated a total of 205 projects over the past decade, including 22 national high-tech enterprises, 9 Shenzhen specialized and innovative enterprises, and 1 national specialized and innovative "little giant" enterprise. Vice President of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Zheng Guangting, stated that since its establishment in 1991, the university has launched entrepreneurship programs, expanded the scale of innovation and entrepreneurship funds, and performed outstandingly in the "Industry University Research 1+Plan" in recent years, gradually forming a complete innovation chain from basic research to achievement transformation, with a patent utilization rate of over 30%. The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology Shenzhen Platform is an important strategic layout of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in Shenzhen. It consists of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology Shenzhen Research Institute established in 2001 and the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology Shenzhen Hong Kong Collaborative Innovation Research Institute established in 2020. The Blue Bay Incubation Port is set up as a school level incubator, focusing on providing entrepreneurial support for the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology's science and technology innovation team. Zheng Guangting stated that the Blue Bay Incubation Port, as a deep practice of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology's innovation concept in Shenzhen, is a "bridge" connecting Hong Kong and the innovation resources of the Greater Bay Area. Since its establishment in 2016, Blue Bay Incubation Port has gradually formed a full cycle carrier network covering "incubation acceleration industrialization".
