Domestic robots stand out in multi scenario applications in the manufacturing industry

2025-09-22

In the wave of "smart manufacturing" upgrade, robots play a pivotal role. Recently, the National Bureau of Statistics released industrial production data for August 2025, showing that the added value of digital product manufacturing industry above designated size in China increased by 8.6% year-on-year, with a growth rate 3.4 percentage points higher than that of all industries above designated size. From the perspective of products, the development momentum of the robotics industry is strong, with the output of products such as robot reducers and industrial robots increasing by 28.6% and 14.4% year-on-year, respectively. At the series of themed press conferences on "Completing the 14th Five Year Plan with High Quality" held by the State Council Information Office on September 9th, Zhang Yunming, Deputy Minister of Industry and Information Technology, stated that data shows that the density of manufacturing robots has reached 470 units per 10000 people, far exceeding the global average. In the fields of photovoltaics, power batteries, new energy vehicles, etc., breakthroughs have been made in intelligent manufacturing equipment and system solutions. The accelerated penetration of manufacturing robots in our country is due to the rich scenarios provided by the massive manufacturing industry for industrial applications. Especially in recent years, advantageous industries represented by the "new three types" have rapidly grown, and the discourse power of the industrial chain has continued to improve, driving a group of domestic robot companies to stand out. In September of this year, Shenzhen Ubixian Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Ubixian") announced that it had won a 250 million yuan procurement contract for embodied intelligent humanoid robot products and solutions from a well-known domestic enterprise, once again breaking the record for the largest single contract in the global humanoid robot field. As of now, the company's Walker series humanoid robots have received contracts worth nearly 400 million yuan. The company has established cooperative relationships with many well-known enterprises, with customer groups covering new energy vehicle manufacturing, 3C manufacturing, smart logistics and other fields, including BYD Co., Ltd., Geely Automobile Holdings Co., Ltd., SF Holding Co., Ltd., etc. ”According to sources from Ubiquitous, the company's industrial humanoid robot Walker S series has entered training in multiple factories worldwide. In addition to its application in traditional industrial scenarios, the technological breakthroughs of robots themselves are driving the continuous expansion of their application boundaries. The wall climbing detection robot developed by Zhejiang Jitai Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Jitai Intelligent") is a typical case of technological breakthrough. A seemingly inconspicuous small chassis can stably adsorb photovoltaic columns and climb to high altitude for operation. It can not only solve the high-risk, inefficient, and low precision problems of traditional manual inspection of wind turbine blades, but also build a solid safety production defense line for the new energy field. Xu Guangping, founder of Jitai Intelligent, stated in an interview with reporters that the company's core products, wall climbing detection robots and integrated big data platforms, have achieved world leading levels in multiple hardware core technologies, such as surface adsorption of different materials and adaptive control technology for wall curvature. The accelerated penetration of industrial chain reinforcement robots in the manufacturing industry is due to the collaborative efforts of the entire industry. With the acceleration of the localization process of key links, from core components and complete machines to industrial ecology, "Made in China" has gained more solid support. The three key components of robots - servo motors, reducers, and controllers - once hindered the development of China's robotics industry. In recent years, Chinese enterprises have been continuously tackling key issues, and the rate of self-developed core components has significantly increased. For example, Shenzhen Leisai Intelligent Control Co., Ltd. recently launched the third-generation FM3 series frameless motor. According to relevant personnel of the company, this series of motors combines Japanese high-precision winding and sealing processes, focusing on the core requirements of robots in terms of structural compactness and performance consistency. While achieving ultra-low cogging torque for European and American leading enterprise products, the torque density has also been increased by 20%, providing a more efficient and reliable power solution for robot joints. While breakthroughs have been made in the localization of core components, Chinese robotics companies are also actively laying out ecological construction, building open platforms, and gathering industrial chain resources to further enhance industrial competitiveness. Taking Shenzhen Cyber Robotics Co., Ltd., a heavy-duty robot enterprise, as an example, currently more than 20 core component companies have developed dedicated sensors around its "modular open platform", 8 system integrators have customized specialized models for mining inspection, offshore oil and gas extraction, and some overseas companies have also joined the company's industrial ecosystem through technology authorization. The founder of the company, Dong Dianbiao, told reporters, "We are not working behind closed doors, but rather becoming the chain leader of the ecological industry chain. The company aims to use technology to build platforms, standards to establish regulations, and demand to attract businesses, so that upstream and downstream enterprises can grow in synergy." In order to further consolidate the foundation of the development of the robotics industry, China is continuously increasing efforts to strengthen and supplement the entire robotics industry chain. By identifying weak links, systematically deploying core technology breakthroughs, launching the "unveiling and leading" talent introduction for cutting-edge technologies and key links in the industry, and relying on technology enterprise incubators and first (sets) promotion policies, the company continuously connects industry, academia, research and application, consolidates industry cooperation to overcome shortcomings, and injects lasting momentum into the high-quality development of the robotics industry.
