Zhejiang Coast Guard fully escorts the "first net" of fishing in the golden autumn season

At noon on September 16th, accompanied by the passionate sound of sirens piercing the sky, nearly a thousand fishing boats set sail simultaneously, carrying the aspirations and sweat of fishermen, heading towards the depths of the East China Sea, marking the official end of the four and a half month marine fishing ban. In order to ensure the safety of offshore production operations after fishing, the Zhejiang Coast Guard has deployed in advance and implemented precise policies, carrying out a series of law enforcement services and guarantee work to safeguard the safety production of fishing boats and civilians. On the eve of the fishing season, law enforcement officers from the coast guard formed a "legal education propaganda team" to board fishing boats, enter fishing villages, and disembark at fishing ports, carrying out the "sending law to the bow of the ship" activity. By distributing safety manuals with illustrations and text, and providing on-site explanations of laws and regulations, we aim to promote and popularize legal provisions such as the "Coast Guard Law of the People's Republic of China" and the "Fisheries Law of the People's Republic of China" to fishermen, thereby enhancing their legal and safety awareness from the source. Illegal fishing not only damages marine ecology, but also requires legal responsibility. ”The law enforcement officers patiently explained the safety production norms and relevant punishment standards to the fishermen, emphasizing the "zero tolerance" attitude towards illegal fishing, cross-border operations, and other behaviors, and calling on the majority of fishermen to produce and operate safely in accordance with the law. During this period, law enforcement officers from the coast guard went deep into major fishing areas such as the Zhejiang Zhongbei Fishing Ground and the Wentai Fishing Ground to conduct "physical examination style" safety inspections on fishing boats that were about to set sail. We focused on inspecting the rescue, firefighting, and operation equipment of fishing boats, and popularized key knowledge such as "three checks and three precautions", reminding everyone to pay close attention to weather changes, prepare for wind and waves, and ensure the safety of operations and navigation. In response to the problems found during the inspection, such as aging of life-saving equipment and insufficient fire-fighting equipment on some fishing boats, rectification requirements were put forward on site, and the ship owners were urged to rectify them in a timely manner before fishing. On the day of the fishing operation, the bureau adopted a combination of fixed-point duty and mobile patrol, dispatching multiple law enforcement vessels to patrol and escort key fishing ports and waterways, strengthening supervision of the concentrated operation areas of fishing vessels, timely preventing and responding to various maritime emergencies, and ensuring standardized and safe maritime production operations. The law enforcement officer of the Coast Guard stated, "We will continue to maintain a high rate of sightings at sea, provide all-weather safety guarantees for fishermen, and ensure safe and orderly production operations at sea
