On September 11-12, Dr. Sun Wei and his wife, the chairman of the Cambridge Chinese Community Center in the UK, were invited to attend the parade commemorating the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti Fascist War. The overseas Chinese leaders who returned from the parade went deep into Liwan, Guangzhou to carry out intangible cultural heritage inspection and exchange activities. The purpose of this event is to deepen cultural exchanges between China and the UK, jointly promote the inheritance and protection of intangible cultural heritage, and promote the integration of excellent traditional Chinese culture into the sea. This exchange activity was led and facilitated by Ms. Li Li, a counselor of the Guangdong Provincial People's Government, vice president of the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Cooperation Promotion Association, visiting scholar at Cambridge University, and the Liwan District Overseas Chinese Federation. It was supported by the Guangzhou Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television and Tourism, Guangzhou Overseas Chinese Federation, Liwan District Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection Center, as well as representatives of relevant units and intangible cultural heritage inheritors in Liwan District. On September 11th, the delegation visited the Thirteen Factories Museum in Guangzhou to learn about the history of Guangzhou's foreign trade. Overseas Chinese leaders, guests, and representatives of intangible cultural heritage inheritors took a group photo together. Guangzhou Thirteen Factories was not only a production base and trading center for luxury goods worldwide, but also a forefront for opening up cultural exchanges, integration, and collision development between the East and the West. Overseas Chinese leaders linger among the glorious foreign trade history and precious cultural relics created by the Thirteen Factories of Guangzhou during the Qing Dynasty. In the painting of the "Exhibition of the History of Guangzhou's Thirteen Factories of Foreign Trade in the Qing Dynasty", they perceive the genes of a thousand year old merchant who dares to be the first, is open and inclusive, pragmatic and honest, and feel the glorious history of Guangzhou's intangible cultural heritage going global and being sought after by European and American countries for hundreds of years. Following the visit of overseas Chinese leaders to the Guangzhou Thirteen Factories Museum, the "Overseas Chinese Leaders Symposium on the 93 Military Parade" was held amidst strong local and national sentiments. Dr. Sun Wei, Chairman of the Cambridge Chinese Community Center in the UK, and Honorary Chairmen of the Liwan Overseas Chinese Federation, Zhang Shigen, Zhao Yihua, Bi Zhijian, and other guests shared their insights during the ceremony. They also engaged in lively discussions on how to use overseas Chinese as a bridge to innovate international expression and dissemination paths of culture. They not only felt proud of the strength and prosperity of their motherland, but also deeply felt the mission of being overseas Chinese - to play a role as a bridge and link, contribute valuable strength to Sino foreign exchanges and cooperation, and contribute to the construction of their hometown. On September 12th, the inspection team visited the Chen Family Temple (Guangdong Folk Crafts Museum), which is known as the "pearl of Lingnan architectural art". This Qing Dynasty ancestral temple building showcases the exquisite craftsmanship of folk architecture in Guangdong during the late Qing Dynasty with its grand scale and gorgeous decorations. Overseas Chinese leaders stop to admire the dazzling array of traditional crafts and treasures of Guangfu, and marvel at the unique charm of Lingnan culture. After the overseas Chinese leaders visited the Chen Clan Ancestral Hall, the inspection team walked into the vibrant Yongqingfang Intangible Cultural Heritage Block and the Cantonese Opera Art Museum. Strolling through the restored streets and alleys, guests immersed themselves in various intangible cultural heritage projects such as Cantonese opera, Guangcai, Guangxiu, enamel, and pastry printing, experiencing firsthand the innovative interpretation of Xiguan's aesthetic of life and the cultural pulse of urban renewal in contemporary times. At the Zhao Family Lion Intangible Cultural Heritage Living Hall, Dr. Sun Wei, Chairman of the Cambridge Chinese Community Center in the UK, and Zhao Weibin, President of the Guangzhou Dragon and Lion Association and a national representative inheritor of intangible cultural heritage, jointly unveiled the plaque for the Dragon and Lion Cultural Heritage Exchange Base. Subsequently, the Liwan District Intangible Cultural Heritage Association, the Liwan District Youth Intangible Cultural Heritage Inheritors Association, and the person in charge of the Cambridge Chinese Community Center in the UK signed a contract to establish the "China Intangible Cultural Heritage (Guangzhou Liwan) Cambridge Chinese Community Center Inheritance Base" and exchanged plaques. It is reported that this is also the first intangible cultural heritage inheritance base of the Cambridge Chinese community, which is of great significance for promoting the dissemination of excellent traditional Chinese culture in the Cambridge Chinese community. At the unveiling ceremony, the Liwan District Overseas Chinese Federation signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the Cambridge Chinese Community Center in the UK. The two sides also exchanged friendship banners symbolizing deep friendship, allowing this "cultural covenant" that spans mountains and seas and lasts for a year to bear fruit once again. The unveiling of the intangible cultural heritage inheritance base and the signing of related agreements mark a crucial step forward in "intangible cultural heritage going global", laying a solid foundation for exploring new international communication models of "intangible cultural heritage+overseas Chinese power" in the future, and contributing Liwan wisdom and solutions to enhance the cultural confidence and cohesion of overseas Chinese communities. The Liwan District Overseas Chinese Federation signed a contract and exchanged friendship banners with the Cambridge Chinese Community Center in the UK. This event brought together leaders from the overseas Chinese community, cultural scholars, inheritors of intangible cultural heritage, and relevant institutions from home and abroad. The organizers of the event stated that this event not only deepened the understanding and identification of overseas Chinese with the cultural roots of our country, but also built a bridge for the cooperation between the Liwan District Overseas Chinese Federation, Guangzhou Dragon and Lion Association, Liwan District Intangible Cultural Heritage Association, Liwan District Youth Intangible Cultural Heritage Inheritors Association, and Cambridge Chinese Community Center in promoting exchanges between Guangzhou and Cambridge in China's intangible cultural heritage.
