The report proposes that in the past five years, driven by economic development, energy transformation, and technological innovation, the global power industry has undergone profound changes, presenting four major trends of "energy consumption electrification, clean power production, wide area power configuration, and system operation digitization". The report presents a new picture of global power development transformation with a series of data: by 2024, global terminal electricity consumption will exceed 27 trillion kilowatt hours, reaching a historical high with a year-on-year growth of about 4%; The proportion of global clean energy installed capacity exceeds 50%, and the proportion of power generation exceeds 40%. The clean transformation of power structure has entered a critical period; The scale of the global power grid is steadily growing, with a total length of 80 million kilometers of transmission lines by 2024. Grid construction has become a key factor in ensuring power supply and efficient utilization of new energy... In recent years, the explosive development of artificial intelligence technology has led to widespread attention to energy and electricity consumption. The report analysis suggests that with the rapid expansion of application scenarios, the high power consumption characteristics of artificial intelligence and the resulting cost increase are gradually becoming obstacles to its development and application. Overall, the scale of electricity consumption driven by artificial intelligence is influenced by three aspects: software algorithms, computing power hardware, and comprehensive electricity efficiency of data centers. At this meeting, the Global Energy Internet Development Cooperation Organization also released a number of research results such as "Global Energy Internet Development and Outlook 2025", "Green Energy Development Promotes the Modernization of the Global South" and so on.
