The Qin'ao Cross border Student Car Service, jointly launched by Macao and the Hengqin Guangdong Macao Deep Cooperation Zone, was launched on the 1st. This service implements a new convenient customs clearance model of "on-board inspection and non-stop clearance", further optimizing the commuting experience of Qin'ao cross-border students and reducing the burden of parents' transportation. During the trial operation phase of the Qin'ao Cross border Student Car, the service target is the group of primary four to senior three students studying across the border in Hengqin and Macau, and they must be Chinese permanent residents of Macau holding the "Hong Kong Macau Resident Travel Permit to Mainland China". This service will be piloted during the fall semester of 2025/26, with 6 routes available during the morning school hours and 2 routes available during the afternoon school hours. It will have 17 stops in Macau Peninsula, Taipa, and Coloane, and 6 stops in Hengqin, covering 27 schools in Macau. When the special vehicle is used for customs clearance, the customs adopts the "special vehicle and lane, boarding inspection, and direct release" mode. Students and accompanying personnel can complete luggage inspection and health quarantine procedures without getting off the vehicle, making the overall customs clearance experience smoother and more comfortable. To ensure the safe and efficient travel of students, the dedicated vehicle adopts a closed-loop management mode of "person vehicle binding, data pre recording, timed and fixed-point, centralized inspection, and full process monitoring", equipped with an information system, allowing parents, schools, and regulatory departments to track vehicle dynamics in real time. Special vehicles are arranged for regular disinfection and cleaning, equipped with emergency supplies, and equipped with cross-border backup vehicles to fully ensure the safety of students' travel. At the same time, the special vehicle is equipped with professional drivers and accompanying personnel from Macau, responsible for guiding boarding and alighting, counting personnel, conducting temperature checks, and maintaining order throughout the journey. The Qin'ao Cross border Student Car is not only an upgrade and optimization of the convenient customs clearance and cross-border commuting at Hengqin Port, but also a key step in promoting the integration of Qin'ao rules and people's livelihoods. The relevant departments of Qinhuangdao and Macao will continue to improve the level of customs clearance facilitation, deepen the connection mechanism between Qinhuangdao and Macao rules, and create a more convenient and efficient cross-border living experience for residents of both places.
