On August 29th, the News Center of the 2025 Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit held a city visit activity, organizing Chinese and foreign media to visit Lenovo (Tianjin) Smart Innovation Service Industrial Park around the theme of "Tianjin Artificial Intelligence Empowering New Industrialization". The industrial park has prepared a futuristic welcome ceremony for the visiting representatives: two robot "drummers" stand in front of the red drum, holding drumsticks and accurately swinging the robotic arm, beating the drums with precision and eyes to welcome them. Zhao Tianquan, the head of intelligent manufacturing at Lenovo Group Innovation Industrial Park (Tianjin), said that as a "window" for the world to observe Tianjin's green development and understand China's intelligent manufacturing, Lenovo Tianjin Zero Carbon Intelligent Factory, located in the industrial park, is the first ecological level "zero carbon factory" and the first batch of "excellent level" intelligent factories in the information and communication technology (ICT) industry. It is also an innovative landmark for Tianjin Binhai New Area to build a national advanced manufacturing research and development base core area. At the highly automated intelligent notebook production line in the industrial park, the reporter saw that the high-speed motherboard production equipment was fully tested by intelligent devices, and more than 150 product tests could be completed in two hours. Zhao Tianquan introduced that the automation rate of the entire production line exceeds 85%, and the component mounting speed of the automatic surface mount machine can reach 172000 per hour. Each motherboard needs to be mounted with more than 4000 components, and the minimum size is about one-third the size of a sesame seed. Lenovo Smart Factory is not an isolated case, and Tianjin's promotion of "artificial intelligence+" has achieved significant results in empowering advanced manufacturing and even future industrial development. As an important participant in the digital cooperation of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, China is promoting the implementation of artificial intelligence in more application scenarios in SCO countries and sharing the dividends of artificial intelligence development. In May of this year, the 2025 China Shanghai Cooperation Organization Artificial Intelligence Cooperation Forum was held in Tianjin. The forum released the "Construction Plan for the China Shanghai Cooperation Organization National Artificial Intelligence Application Cooperation Center", inviting SCO member states to jointly build an artificial intelligence application cooperation center, strengthen practical cooperation in consolidating the foundation of artificial intelligence development, promoting digital infrastructure interconnection, strengthening industrial cooperation and docking, and promoting talent exchange and cultivation, and jointly promote the universal application of artificial intelligence technology.
