The opening ceremony of the Cross Strait University Students' Cultural and Creative Works Exchange Exhibition of the "Guangdong Taiwan Students' Chinese Love" series of activities was held in Guangzhou on the 21st. The theme of this exchange exhibition is "Integration", which is aimed at collecting works from more than 10 universities on both sides of the Taiwan Strait and students from overseas Taiwanese universities. Two major sections are set up: "Cross Strait Integration · Design Dialogue" and "Intangible Cultural Heritage Revitalization · Intelligent Innovation", in order to present the innovative expression of shared cultural symbols between Guangdong and Taiwan under the empowerment of modern technology, and explore new possibilities of "AI+Intangible Cultural Heritage". The exhibition received over 200 works from students from both sides of the Taiwan Strait, among which 82 outstanding works were exhibited. The reporter saw on site that traditional images such as Mazu and the Three Mountains King have been designed into cartoon versions of IP by Taiwanese youth. With the help of AI drawing technology, they have derived a series of cultural and creative design drawings featuring cartoon versions of the Three Mountains King and Mazu images, such as keychains, card holders, water cups, etc. The cute shapes and rich product styles are eye-catching. Chen, a student from Taiwan, said that he designed the majestic Three Mountain Kings into a cute cartoon image. "The folk beliefs and customs of the Three Mountain Kings originated in eastern Guangdong and were later spread to Taiwan. Cross Strait cultures share the same roots and are very happy to contribute to the revitalization of Chinese folk beliefs and customs." On the eve of the exhibition, more than 40 Taiwanese university students and youth representatives were invited to participate in the "AI+Intangible Cultural Heritage Innovation Workshop" for Guangdong and Taiwan students, and together with mainland students from Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts and Guangdong Vocational and Technical University of Light Industry, they visited and exchanged ideas in Guangzhou, Dongguan, and Shenzhen, starting a cultural heritage dialogue with "AI+Intangible Cultural Heritage". We incorporated traditional Chinese cultural elements such as Zhongshan suit, cheongsam, and lion dance into our clothing and accessories, while also incorporating Cantonese opera makeup to create cartoon versions of the characters' Yuele 'and' Yueyue '- one male and one female. Taiwanese student Cai Yating said that she first used AI to create the appearance of the dolls, and then had mainland classmates color and add expressions. I think it's a pleasure to cooperate with mainland students. "The exhibition is hosted by Guangdong Overseas Friendship Association, organized by Guangdong Vocational and Technical University of Light Industry and Guangzhou Taiwan Youth Home. The exhibition will last for one month. At the same time of offline exhibition in Guangdong Overseas Chinese Museum, online exhibition will be carried out through WeChat official account such as Guangdong Light Industry Polytechnic University, Guangdong Overseas Chinese Museum, Guangdong Taiwan Student Zhonghua Qing, and cross-strait media.
