The London Metal Exchange (LME) delivery warehouse jointly operated by China Resources Logistics and GKE was officially unveiled on the 19th. During the unveiling ceremony, the Financial Secretary of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Paul Chan, stated that this move is an important step in building a commodity ecosystem in Hong Kong. It is of great significance for serving the national development strategy and further consolidating and enhancing Hong Kong's position as an international financial and shipping center. Chen Maobo stated that China is the world's largest industrial country in terms of manufacturing scale and the most complete industrial categories. It has a huge demand for non-ferrous metals, as well as abundant metal resources and leading refining technology. Its production of various metals ranks among the top in the world. Chen Maobo believes that joining the LME delivery network is an important step for Hong Kong to build a commodity trading ecosystem, and it is also of great significance for serving the country's development strategy and further consolidating and enhancing Hong Kong's position as an international financial and shipping center. Chen Maobo stated that setting up delivery points in Hong Kong can significantly reduce logistics time and costs, and improve configuration efficiency compared to relying on overseas warehouses. This measure will also enhance the resilience of regional non-ferrous metal supply. Mainland enterprises rely on overseas warehouses for delivery, and LME warehouses in Hong Kong can become "reserve points" and "stabilizers", playing a regulatory role, helping to stabilize the supply of key metal resources in the region, and strengthening the linkage development and integration innovation of Hong Kong's financial and logistics services.
