Hou Yanshe and Cao Yifei wrote in the 7th issue of "Learning and Exploration" in 2025 that Chinese culture is the sum of spiritual and cultural achievements created by the Chinese nation, with distinctive characteristics such as continuity, self-improvement, brilliance, and inclusiveness. From a philosophical perspective, subjectivity is a concept opposite to objectivity, which embodies the essential characteristic of human beings as conscious beings actively pursuing self-development. Based on this, the subjectivity of Chinese culture emphasizes the subjective initiative of the Chinese people to consciously and independently develop Chinese culture, including the active inheritance and conscious construction of the Chinese nation's cultural identity and cultural homeland, and emphasizes that the Chinese nation can always maintain an independent spiritual core when facing the new domestic environment and various external challenges. The construction of socialist culture with Chinese characteristics in the new era is based on the premise of promoting the subjectivity of Chinese culture in the new era. As the subjectivity of Chinese culture continues to consolidate and strengthen, the CPC will have a strong cultural force to lead the times, the Chinese nation and the Chinese people will have a solid cultural foundation for national identity, and the Chinese civilization will have a distinctive cultural characteristic of exchanges and mutual learning with other civilizations in the world.
