The touring exhibition celebrating the 60th anniversary of the supply of Dongjiang water to Hong Kong with the theme of "Connecting One Thread to Drink Water and Remembering Its Source" kicked off on the 16th at over 100 locations in 18 districts of Hong Kong, attracting about 50000 citizens to participate on the day of the event. The exhibition further deepens the understanding of Hong Kong citizens, especially young people, about the supply of Dongjiang water to Hong Kong through exhibition boards, educational leaflets, on-site sharing, and interactive Q&A. It encourages the younger generation to have a deeper understanding of the history and operation of the Dongjiang water supply project, and strengthens their awareness of water conservation and environmental protection. Li Huiqiong, a member of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress and the leader of the Hong Kong Patriotic Education Working Group, who attended the event, said that through the commemoration activities, young people can enhance their understanding of the history of Dongjiang River water supply to Hong Kong, and deeply realize that the country has been giving Hong Kong great support at all times. It is reported that the 60th anniversary series of youth activities for the supply of Dongjiang water to Hong Kong also includes the theme activities of "Tracing the Origins of Dongjiang River and Traveling Through Small Things", the "Knowledge of Dongjiang Water" online knowledge competition for young people in Hong Kong, and theme sharing sessions, aiming to deepen the understanding of Dongjiang water supply to Hong Kong among Hong Kong citizens, especially young people, and cultivate patriotism.
