2025-08-18
Promoting regional coordinated development is an important lever for China to achieve high-quality economic development. Based on the recent economic performance reports released by various provinces in the first half of the year, Shanxi, Anhui, Jiangxi, Henan, Hubei, and central Hunan provinces have shown strong momentum, momentum, and potential for growth. From east to west, connecting south and north, with about one tenth of the country's land area and carrying about a quarter of the population, the central region plays a significant role in the national economic landscape. In the first half of this year, among the six central provinces, five provinces had a GDP growth rate exceeding the national average. At the same time, the "quality" has also been effectively improved, and the development potential of the central region is gradually being released. To promote high-quality economic development, it is not only necessary to compete with quantity for speed, but also to focus on quality. The central region is an important energy and raw material base, modern equipment manufacturing and high-tech industrial base in China, with high-level universities, State Key Laboratory, scientific and technological innovation centers, and high-tech enterprises gathering. Economic data in the first half of the year shows that high-tech manufacturing has become an important engine driving economic growth in the central region, and the industrial structure is showing a clear trend towards innovation and optimization. Based on a strong industrial foundation and the advantage of gathering innovative resources, the central region actively promotes the transformation of old and new driving forces, accelerates the cultivation of new quality productivity, continuously optimizes the industrial structure, and continuously strengthens towards "new" forces. The release of consumer vitality is an important driving force for economic growth in the central region. The central region carries about a quarter of the country's population and has enormous potential in the consumer market. The central provinces have taken multiple measures to transform their population advantages into economic development achievements. Anhui expands consumption scenarios and focuses on online consumption, with over a thousand enterprises across the province participating in the "Enter E-commerce Platform" campaign; Jiangxi continues to promote the use of high-quality consumer resources in rural areas, expand sales channels for agricultural products, and improve the rural commercial circulation system; Shanxi is creating a comprehensive, all season, and all age tourist destination with vibrant tourism consumption. Under the primary task of expanding domestic demand and boosting consumption, central provinces are seizing opportunities to expand their market by exchanging old for new consumer goods, cultivating new growth points for consumption, and effectively releasing consumer demand. High level opening up to the outside world is an important direction for the central region to adapt to innovation and promote development. Since the beginning of this year, the international environment has been complex and ever-changing, and foreign trade has faced many difficulties. The six provinces in central China are not located near the sea or along the border, but they are still under pressure and actively responding to risks and challenges, demonstrating strong resilience in foreign trade. All provinces actively expand the "circle of friends" for foreign trade jointly building the "the Belt and Road" countries, RCEP member countries, Latin America and other countries, and respond to the uncertainty of the international market with the increment of emerging markets. In the export of high-tech products closely related to new quality productivity in the central region, there has been a significant increase. This means that the export structure continues to optimize, the innovation background is more distinct, and the innovation momentum is gradually releasing the dividends of foreign trade. Located in the inland hinterland, the central region is accelerating the construction of inland open channels, with ports, airports, and trains interconnected and effectively connected, forming a trend of linkage and intermodal transportation, and promoting high-quality products to accelerate their entry into the global market. Standing at a new and higher starting point, the central provinces should further lead the development of new quality productivity with technological innovation, and promote the digital, intelligent, and green transformation of industries; Adapt to market demand, create new consumption scenarios, new business models, and stimulate new consumption momentum; Actively respond to global development changes and seize opportunities in foreign trade. It is worth looking forward to the accelerated rise of the central region by gathering strength, accumulating momentum, and taking advantage of the situation. (New Society)
