According to statistics, the total population in mid-2025 will consist of 7247600 permanent residents and 279900 floating residents. Between mid-2024 and mid-2025, a net migration of 18200 Hong Kong residents was recorded. During the same period, 35200 people were born and 50000 died, resulting in a natural decrease of 14800 people. A spokesperson for the SAR government stated that Hong Kong continues to benefit from various measures to attract talent and import labor.
